Using a socket set and Robertson #3 (smallest) driver head, with the breaker shut off before working I removed the old element and disconnected the old element from the wire connections.I then installed the new element by connecting the terminals to the wire connection in the range before screwing the old retaining clips to the back of the oven compartment wall. Then I flipped the breaker switch back on and turned on the oven dial to 425 degrees to see the element heat up and glow red affirming the success of the repair.Total time to repair about 15 minutes.

Got a copy of the parts breakdown for the oven door from partselect. Com. Removed 8 screws from outer frame (3 top, 3 bottom, 1 on eah side). Removed the main glass pane from oven door, be careful when doing this as this is most of the weight of the door. It will want close on its own due to lack of weight. Removed the 2 top screw s that attach the handle. Removed some screws from some plates that retain the 2 panes of glass of glass. Removed the third (most inner, broken) pane of glass. Replaced with new one. Reversed disassebly procedure for assembly.

in the bottom of the oven when I was looking to see what was going on. My husband did the repair just as the video described. I suspect this part honeycomb round maybe ceramic piece goes over where the heat is vented from the oven. Where do I get another one of these and how does it attach in the oven-under t he burner. HELP I tried to look on the schematics and did not see anything. The repair went fine, except when we turned everything back on it did not work. Then my husband remembered he forgot to plug the new part IN. Once plugged in it is working fine. Thanks

The inside glass on my oven was broken and falling out.

First I removed the oven door from the range by removing 2 screws from the door. Next I removed 2 more screws from the oven door to get to the panel beneath. Once the top portion of the door was removed there were 4 nuts holding the glass sections together. Once these nuts were out I removed the broken class, replaced it with the new g lass and reassembled. It was a very easy and quick project. I was so happy to find the part. I thought I was going to have to buy a new range. Thanks.

Unplugged the stove first !
Removed bake element ; (2 screws), looked OK,
measured with an Ohm meter, measured "open".
Also, removed rear cover (6-screws), wires not burnt. Ordered new element-rec'd next day! My wife installed it and replaced rear cover. Works great (oven!) and about $10 cheaper and quicker than from a local dealer!

Old heating element broke

  • Paul from Ellenville, NY
  • Really Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Drank a beer, grabbed a screwdriver & tried to remove the two screws that held the element in place. The screws were old and when I turned them, they stripped instantly. This required another beer. Eventually I used pliers to grip the sides of the screws to remove and reinsrt them. When I finished the oven worked great, so I celebrated wi th another beer.

Two burners did not heat
2 of 2 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Conan from Moline, IL
  • Easy
  • 30 - 60 mins
Pretty easy installation; you lift the top plate up and snip the wires maybe four inches away from the burner. Leave more wire than you think you need; once you get into it you'll realize you need more wire length than you think.

Then strip the remaining ends, twist them together with the provided caps, and use the heat shrink to hold it together. Remove the old terminal, replace it with the new ones, and you're good to go!

Remember to check that the wires are tight in the cap before heat shrinking, though. I had to get more shrink wrap in order to finish.

Oven door would not close...trouble shooting indicated a faulty hinge.
2 of 2 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Mike from CARLSBAD, CA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • 30 - 60 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
I loosened two screws(one on the left and one on the right) at the inside base of the oven door, then lifting the door off. The hinges are held in place by two screws and a flat metal covering. Remove the faulty hinges. The screw holes on the new hinges have to have some WD40 applied and then screw the screws in and out to widen the h oles a bit. Once the screw goes in easily, remove them and insert the hinge into the hole that you removed the old hinges from. Replace the metal covering and insert the screws. tighten the screws. Open the hinges then slip the door back onto the hinges. Reinsert the two screws at the bottom of the door and tighten. I recommend replacing both hinges as there is a plastic insert in the hinge that becomes brittle over time and breaks.
