CCE700 Maytag Wall Oven - Instructions

We found the youtube video created by partselect.com and followed it. We took the door apart, cleaned the inside, removed the old hinges and replaced them with the new ones. Now the door works perfectly!

We removed the 2 screws at back of oven that hold element on, which took some doing as they were very rusted. We then pulled old element out; this proved a bit difficult because the ends of the old element were stuck in the insulation behind. My 31 yr. old grandson very carefully took the whole door apart. Took out the broken window and put the new one back in. He was very careful to put every screw back in the original hole. It took him exactly one hour.

Unlike many here, the oven door closed enough to come up to temperature quickly and I could not feel any heat escaping. The oven worked fine but the light stayed on because the door just wasn't snug enough. I watched the great how-to video and ordered the hinges. They arrived in two or three days! I did some more googling around and found the magnet trick! I just happened to have the perfect size magnet from a broken souvenir magnet! and now the light stays off! I stuck the magnet (about the size of a nickel) inside the door opposite the light button. This won't help if you have serious problems with the oven door, but it works if the only problem is the light!

Removed the screws from the back of the oven to remove the damaged element; removed the electrical connectors and reattached to the new element and screwed it back in

Loosen two screws to remove door. Removed outside trim and other outside screws hold center panel in place. Removed one screw holding hinge in place. Screwed new hinge in place. Re-attached center panel to outside trim and hung door. Easy enough.

We watched the video demo & followed it step by step. The project took about 35 minutes and we replaced the hinge on each side of the oven. First we removed the oven from the wall, then dismantled it & cleaned it thoroughly, removed the old hinges and replaced with new ones. the only problem we had was that the pin holding the hinge op ... I watched the youtube video that was provided by this website on my computer while doing this repair step by step. It was a snap!

Removed the door by unscrewing two screws holding it to the springs. Then I placed the door face down on a counter top. I removed the screws from each layer of the door and turned each layer over and laid it beside the door. Took care to support glass so it did not fall out and break. When I got to the layer where the seal was, I remove ... Read more d the old seal and replaced it with the new one. Then, I replaced each layer in reverse order. You have to be careful when replacing the layer that goes over the seal that the seal remains in the right place. It has a tendency to slip out of place, so check it before tightening screws. To place the door back on the spring loaded handles, prop the handles open a ways with screw driver handles. This provides a gap so that the door will slip on easily

In my 26 year old oven the screws to remove the element were extremely difficult to remove, but with 6-10 applications of Liquid Wrench and brute strength we finally did. Remove screws, remove old coil, place new coil, screw back in. The hardest part of this task is removing the existing screws which are most likely partially corroded and hard to move.

The heating element in our old old oven broke in half. Luckily we were able to find a replacement part (which we didn't think we would that's how old the oven is)! Removed racks from oven, unscrewed two screws holding old element in place with philips head screw driver from the back wall of oven. Carefully pulled element from oven to expose connecting wires and then pulled two wires loose from old element. I followed the online video at Jennair.com. The repair was easy and I saved quite a bit of money. I was quoted a price of $534.00 to replace the door hinges, I did it for $96.00 including overnight shipping chargers. I am a very happy lady.
