I took out the side of the cooktop that did not work. I had to take off the bottom of the cooktop and checked where electricity was going and not going. Nearly 29 year old grill element was broken and not heating properly.

Unplugged and removed the old grill element by hand and installed the replacement element by plugging it into the socket. Tools were not required for this and it took less than five minutes. The new element is great and heats much better than the original did before it broke.

very easy - not really a "repair" more of a face lift, although the grill was unusable.
Not much to tell about installing a new grill grate. Partselct.com was very prompt and efficient in sending out the part.

a few months ago, my daughter-n-law and I were hitting up tacos on the grill----the grates melted ---I thought I would have to purchase all of the parts even though only the grates were ruined---I am very pleased with my find with you.

I have a newer jenn air with the 3 prong elements. The original element was 3 prong 1900W only using one of the controls. Since the stove socket would accommodate 4 prongs I looked up the part for the older stoves (PS2357533)which had 2 elemants using both controls. The element plugged right in and I now have high heat like on my older
... Read more models and it now grills like it should instead of just heating the stuff up. Highly recommended. One caution you will need a metal piece to support the element since the newer stoves do not use the metal bricketts with supports.
