Turned off power to range because I was scared. Unscrewed broiler element, pulled part forward and pulled off wires that were attached to the back, attached wires to new element, pushed it back in place, screwed it back on to oven. Cooked my bruchette!

In my perpetual state of optimism, I hoped that the part description was incorrect and that the cost for the knob was actually a cost for a set of knobs. Woe to the consumer who doubts his own eyes! Yes, you will be paying about $25 after s/h for a single knob- but it matches, it works, it fits, and it takes less than 2 seconds to insta ll, so kudos to the manufacturer who knew this would be a good form of supplemental income from their product... I still adore Whirlpool despite their exorbitant pricing on plastic knobs... :)

First I removed the ovem door, then I removed the 4 screws, unplugged element and plugged in the new one, then replace the screws and door. It should have been a 10 min job but I'm old and a bit fat...slowed me down.

I must compliment PartSelect on their quick responce and delivery of the item ordered. It arrived a day after I had ordered it. Trust me, the $40.00 I spent on the item was way cheaper than having a repair service fix it or having the entire oven replaced. I would highly recomend anyone to utilize PartSelect.

Broiler unit would not heat

The broiler unit had disintegrated at both connections. I removed the two screws in the top of the oven holder the unit, pulled out the unit, measured and ordered a replacement.

To replace the element, I pulled out the stove, removed the rear panel, located the connections for the broiler unit, remove parts of the old unit. I then attached the new unit to the top of the oven with the two screws, went around back and pushed in the two connections, replaced the back cover and replace the stove. It took about 30 minutes because I cleaned everything and sprayed bug spay (another plus for doing the repair myself).

I opened the door to recieve the parcel from the courier. I opened the envelope containing the knobs. I took the knobs out of their plastic bags. I then place the knobs on the control stubs. The whole project took less than a minute and would not have been possible without PartSelect.com.

Thanks for everything!

S incerely,

Dean Harley

My stove is well over 15 years. When I bought my house over 7 years ago the stove was ancient and had only 2 knobs. Well, one of the two fell apart and I could not afford to replace the stove. Lo and behold there was a part number on the back of the knob and I did a goggle search and found an identical replacement. The kind they sell at the store, the adjustable ones, did not work. Anyway, I placed the order during the New Year holiday and I got my knobs in 2 days. Beautiful and shiny and best of all I can use all my burners for the first time ever.Thank you
