ASI2575GRW05 Maytag Refrigerator - Instructions

Not so easy as others have described. I kept the parts off the auger together in my hand as I replaced the drum. Thanks to the people who mentioned the nut being left handed. Taking a picture before dis-asembly saved me. I would never have gotten it back together otherwise.

Took the Ice Bin Out emptyed it then removed the nesasary screws pulled the broken Peice off and sliped

removed ice storage drawer, removed dispensing shaft from storage drawer, replaced plastic auger and reassembled.

I began by removing the ice maker and storing the ice. The part did not come with instructions so I began taking the ice maker apart. I ran into problems rather quickly so I went to the "part select" web site and there was a video with instructions on removal and reinstallation of the auger. It was a breeze after that. removed six screws removing the cover and exposing the shaft & auger.

I then had to remove the snap ring & undid the end nut that has left handed threads.removed the 6 auger plates and then replaced all parts in reverse order of their removal.

looked at the schematics from online

Ordered part, watched video. Had a problem with reassembly of ice crushing assembly, did a re-do as one of the blades had dislodged from the drive shaft!

Pulled out the ice tray, took whatever screws held the front on. The rest was pretty easy. The only thing I would say was a problem was taking off the cutters. First I removed the 6 screws and then 2 more--being carefull to take cap off inside to nremove metal blades--be sure to keep in order--taking ba digital picture helps at this point--make sure to put back nin reverse order after replacing washer and new auger--went smooth thanks appliance parts repair service forum--Rick--Enjoy your own re ... Pry old switch and pull out. Disconect two wires. Put two wires on new switch, must be inserted right and connections not loose. Put switch in, making shure wies do not come off and snap in place

Unplug appliance. Socket wrench to unscrew two screws. Module drops down. disconnected two press-on wires by prying off with screwdriver. Removed old switch. Press-fit new switch. Reconnected two wires (color coded). Screwed module back in place. Plug in appliance.

disconnected el. power to fridge. pried out broken switch with small screwdriner and pulled out w/water pump pliers. installed new switch and pressed into opening.

After disconnecting the electricity. I followed the instructions as indicated in the "HOW TO" article on the website. I used a steel putty knife and pried the light switch out of its retaining hole. Read more outlets to the new switch and easily snapped it into place. Engaged the electric power and tested the switch.

Part was easy to order, delivered quickly, installation very easy. Just unplug the unit, pop out the old swich using a screwdriver, disconnect and reconnect leads and pop switch back in. Definitely recommend that you can do it too.
