The ice crusher quit working

Removed the old one put in a new one, fairly simple. Would have been much easier if I had called the manufacturer first then ordered the part. The first part I ordered was the ice bucket, I thought I was getting the crusher mechanism, but it turned out to be the bucket only. When I finally got the right part it was really easy. I went ahe ad and kept the new bucket anyway.

broken cam with new piece. Put the door back on the hinge pin and replace upper hinge screws and cover.
Now reload all of the stuf f.

Took the door off, and replaced the plastic shim on the bottom that was the cause of the problem. The shim had broken into pieces and was no longer holding the door in height and alignment. I was proud of myself that I could repair it myself and avoid a $125.00 service call from a repairman. Total cost of repair including shipping and ha ndling was just south of $12.00.

Removed broken arm, repositioned spring and reinstalled with new arm. Very Easy. I was suspicious as the part did not look like the old one, but the part info said that it would work with my model, and, of course, it did.

ice agitator was stuck and wouldn't dispense ice
  • Mary from Hartsburg, MO
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
I've been messing around with the old part for literally years. Every now and then the metal agitator rod would spin out of the plastic cup that joins it to the freezer. I'd have to disassemble it and try to get it back into alignment. This time nothing worked, so I ordered a new assembly. It arrived even more promptly than PartSelect predicted and it installed in five minutes. I couldn't be happier!
