2001 Window AC/Heat Unit.
I ran across your web site and ordered the fan $70.00, telling myself that if we could fix it we saved $650.00. A new - window air conditioner is over $700.00 for heat and air.
Believe it or not the two of us oldies put it up on the desk on CARDBOARD so we wouldn't scratch the desk (my husband wo ... Read more uldn't have thought of that - that's why God made man -a woman). I vacuumed everything I could see to clean which made it more bearable to breathe. Then we had to decide how to get the old fan off and the new one on. They don't make these things to repair. We actually took out more screws than we needed to but that's ok. There are 3 legs in there that needed to be unscrewed so we could pull out the heating coils enough to replace the fan. One of the 3 legs was difficult to maneuver because of the tight space so my husband and his brawn decided to cut a hole in the medal on the right side. He did it a little unconventionally but it still solved the problem of the 3rd screw without affecting anything else. We both had to pull on the heating coil to slip it up out of the bottom pan without breaking anything else but we managed. We got the old fan blade off and the new one on. Two heads are always better than one. We did it and it works with a savings of $650.00.
Your website saved us a heap of money. We have already started telling others about it.

Removed the wires that I could, then terminal block. Installing the new terminal block was very easy; however the wires that arced were fused to the terminal bock screws and needed to be cut and new connectors had to be put on the wires to allow them to be reattached to the block safely.

The length of the repair was increased because of the melted parts and having to run to the store to get the new wire connectors big enough to fit on the wires. If we were simply replacing the block and had not encountered the melted ends, it would have been a very quick and easy repair.

The bulb has a plastic clear cover. That cover can just be carefully removed using a screwdriver. It's held in by a metal bracket. After you remove the cover. You'll just need to replace the bulb and then re-install the cover and bracket.

I couldn't explain how to do the job any better than your instructional video does. As long as you follow the video instructions you should have no problems.

Simple Just plugged it in !

I just took the old ones out and replaced them with the new ones. It took less than 5 minutes.

I unplugged the damaged element and plugged in the new one. It took less trhan 30 seconds and the unit worked just fine.

Pulled airconditioner out of Housing. Removed screws holding plastic cover in place. Loosened lock ring. Removed old fan blades and replaced with new fan blades. Reassembled plastic cover and returned air conditioner to housing. The unit is now quieter than before!

Turn off power, remove heat coil assembly and drip pan. Unscrew the terminal assembly from the range top. Cut back 3 inches on each terminal wire and strip insulation 3/8 inch. Terminal assembly should be with the short side of the black block (from the side securement hubs) facing toward the coil stems. Slide the shrink wrap onto ... Read more each wire and Twist each old with each new wire using the wire nuts and slide the shrink wrap Over each. Using a hair dryer, heat gun, or open flame carefully shrink the wrap. Secure the terminal back in place on the range.

Just followed the instructions

Pretty easy installation; you lift the top plate up and snip the wires maybe four inches away from the burner. Leave more wire than you think you need; once you get into it you'll realize you need more wire length than you think.

Then strip the remaining ends, twist them together with the provided caps, and use the heat shrink ... Read more to hold it together. Remove the old terminal, replace it with the new ones, and you're good to go!

Remember to check that the wires are tight in the cap before heat shrinking, though. I had to get more shrink wrap in order to finish.

Unpluged old one pluged new one in. So good to have a burner that all the coils heat up.

After examining the burner unit I noticed that one of the male contact spades was burned and look deformed. After removing the spade I discovered that it had been originally manufactured incorrectly. Read more r one that looked like it had gotten a little hot. She tried the unit and it worked perfectly. She had not used that burner unit for a very lengthy time. The investigation of the problem took a little time, but the repair went very fast. Moral is :" If a spade doesn't look right, it probably isn't", but either the individual spade or plug can be replaced. This site is now my "GO TO" place for parts.

Got the shipment. Took it out of the package. Set it into the stove top. Tested to see if it worked, It did. Turned it off and took my dog for a walk.

Actually, a child of average intelligence can do this. Just pull the surface elements, take the old drip bowls, install the new ones and re-install the surface elements, including the brand new one I received.
