First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Plug the wires onto the new bake element and re-screw back into place.

Removed two screws securing heating element. Removed broken element and disconnected wires. Removed back panel of oven, unplugged from outlet, installed new element, attaching 2 screws. From back side of oven reattached 2 wires, replaced back panel and plugged in. Pretty simple!

It was simple. I flipped the circuit breaker just in case, and then unscrewed the bracket for the old heatng element. Disconnected the two plugs, connected the plugs for the new element, and screwed the new bracket back in.

Very simple fix. I pulled the stove away from the wall and unplugged from outlet. Open the oven door and remove the oven racks. I used a phillips screw driver to remove the 2 screws holding the element and then pulled out. There were 2 wires attached to the element, those just pull off. Oven was missing the broiler element when I moved in so the connector/wires to plug the broiler were no longer visable in the main part of the oven (otherwise the repair would take 2 minutes). Moved oven away from wall and unplugged. Unscrewed sheet metal on the back of oven and found the broiler wires (the only two NOT connected to somet ... Read more hing). Fed the wires back into the oven and plugged in the broiler. Attached the broilers to the top hooks. Put sheet metal back on. Everything worked fine. I wouldn't say I know much about fixing things, but this was a very straight-forward job.

I first killed the power to the oven by switching off the circuit breaker and then unplugging it from the wall. I then inserted the new element assembly into the oven and reattached the screws. The next step was to reattach the power leads to the new element. It was then time to put the back cover panel back on and plug the oven back in. I then pushed the oven back into place and switched the circuit breaker back on. Finally, I tested the new element to see if it operated properly by setting a temperature and observed the temperature on a separate oven thermometer used for baking. Your exploded views of the oven helped me plan and execute this repair. Good feature that would be even better if the resolution was a bit better.

Switch off the breaker or unplug.
The screws were in tight so make sure your philips bite is new so you do not strip.
Pulled the element out and held the wires in place with a clothes pin so not to slip back in the stove.
Connect and cooked up pizza for dinner.

Removed 2 screws from mounting plate in base element.

Disconnected 2 wires from bake element.

Installed new bake element in reverse.

Removed two screws-put burner in-pit screws back in! Turned over on and it worked!!!

Unplugged the stove, unscrewed the two screws, unplugged the element....plugged in the new element, screwed to top of stove, plugged stove back in and tested. Pizza was great!

Unscrewed the 2 screws in the back of the element. Disconnected the unit from the bake of the oven, replaced the two ends of the new element and screwed in the 2 screws. Oven works great! Took less than 5 minutes to complete.

Unscrewed the old and screwed on the new.

First I removed the three screws, then removed the old end cap, cleaned the area, and reinstalled the new end cap, then attached with the three screws.

I read up about the repair on the internet and what it entailed, thought I could do it. So followed directions from the internet after looking up Ammana, model number and serial number, and ordered the part from Part Select.com. It arrived two days later, was really impressed with their business handling of it.
I paid particular att ... Read more ention to disconnecting the power and pulling the plug out of the wall as double insurance to not getting electrocuted.
The Installation was quite simple, just pull the old one out and put the new one in. I took note of how the old one came out, and connected the new one in the same fashion, and it works wonderfully, just heated right up. It was a good experience.

Had to use wd-40 to get the old part loose (oven is over 15 years old) and used pliers to pull apart from the oven. Replaced with the new part and works great. . . Once I used the wd-40 to loosen, it was super easy.
