This is a single OEM water filter that fits refrigerators that have a round, screw-in filter that is located inside the fresh food compartment above the top shelf. This white plastic filter measures 5-3/4-Inches long and 3-5/8-Inches in diameter. Remember to put the Replacement Month sticker on the filter before installing. To install this part, turn the old cartridge counter-clockwise until it will no longer turn. Pull down the old filter and dispose it. Examine the O-rings for any signs of wear and tear. Simply push the new cartridge into the holder and turn clockwise until secured. The front label should be facing you. Throw out the first couple rounds of ice and run 1.5 gallons of water through the filter before using. To reset the indicator, press and hold the dispenser LOCK and AUTO-LIGHT buttons on the dispenser simultaneously for a couple seconds or until the indicator is flashing. This filters purpose is to reduce water impurities such as cysts, chlorine, particulates, lead, atrazine, asbestos, among others. To ensure the best quality water replace the filter every 6 months or if you notice a change in flavor, color, or flow.
