Watch some videos to familiarize yourself with the steps. There are maybe six to disassemble and install the new part. I replaced all three switches. They are not expensive and to replace 3 is only 5% more work than to replace just one; you have to take the microwave apart in either case. UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE FROM THE WALL. Start taking it apart. I use my phone to take a picture of any thing I remove, unscrew or disconnect, especially wires, BEFORE I disconnect them. Thee pictures serve as a reference when I go to reconnect and reassemble. If I am uncertain then I check the picture. Good luck!

I ordered a new coupler and dropped it into the center hole, jiggled it until it fell into place, put the turntable back on the track, and voila, fixed! It was ridiculously easy.

Unplug the microwave. Removed the glass tray, the roller ring, and plastic piece that sits on the motor shaft from the inside of the microwave. Hint: if the microwave is over a stove lay a towel across the stove to catch any screws that may fall.

Removed the two screws on top of vent with a phillips screw driver. Lift the vent up and away from microwave. Push down to snap in new vent and replace the two screws you previously removed. Done!l

I removed the outer cover and exposed the inner workings. I watched a video on partselect.com to show how to remove and replace the Diode. I followed the instructions and it was very easy to replace.

Unfortunately, the diode was only part of the issue. I ended up replacing the High Voltage capacitor and Magnetron also. Those w ... Read more ere a little more complicated but still easy to do.

Removed the microwave from above the oven by loosening the two screws above the microwave. As the unit tilted outward lifted up and the whole unit came out all the time feeding the power cord through the cutout for the power cord. Very easy job maybe a second hand to help fish the power cord when installing and removing.

It was a bit awkward because the microwave is mounted over my stove. I had to twist around and install the bulb and then replace the cover. It was a bit uncomfortable. It took me about 10 minutes to complete.

The high voltage tired was shorted. I replaced it with a new one, but that did not solve the problem.

You can test the high voltage tired with a voltmeter and a 9 V battery. Search Search for it on YouTube.

I tested all these high-voltage components with a low-voltage multi meter, and they all checked out OK (after replacing the diode). However the microwave still did not heat food.

When working on a microwave it is important to unplug it and also discharge the high voltage capacitor. The capacitor has a 10 megaohm resister to automatically discharge itself, but it may have failed – – so discharge it manually.

In the end I ordered a new microwave.

Don't waste your time with other parts stores online. Partselect sells quality parts and they arrived 2 days early. I purchase a door switch from another online store and the switch was defective.

Remove the two screws to the plastic vent strip at the top of the unit. That exposes a metal cover (upper right) held in place by two more screws. (Found that removing the screw holding the key panel in place and moving that out of the way made for more work room) Remove the metal cover. The HV diode (visible) on one end is secured to the ... Read more chassis by a screw. The other end is fitted to the HV capacitor. So unscrew one end and pull the HV diode off the capacitor. The replacement fits on like the old one came off. Very simple repair. But it would be safe to short the capacitor terminals to the chassis first. Noticed that it appeared the sparking was caused by the HV diode's outer casing being worn by the asbestos covered wire next to it and laying against it. I made sure the two were not touching, before putting the covers back on. Also, the problem started with an occasional spark when the MW started. It quickly deteriorated to a full, non-stop electrical sparking. You can hear it, smell it, and see it through the top vent. You don't need to remove unit to work on it.

I replaced all 3 door switches. Once you remove the top vent then remove the panel. Then remove the two screws holding the door switches in place and pop them out and replace them. It was tricky getting around all the wires but eventually was able to get around them. Took less than 20 mins to do and was less than $40 to fix. Much better t ... I measured. I leveled. I mounted hanging bracket and here's where it got tricky because you need two people to raise the microwave into position. I'd stack 2x4's In the back by the wall. Holes pre drilled raise it on up tighten bolts and poof you're done!! I did loosen the screws that pull the cabinets together and the bottom screw that holes the cabinet on one side. It didn't seem like it needed it the way it slipped in but maybe it slipped in because I did it. Only takes a minute. Use a minute here save an hour there. Go do it! Times a wastin!!

Unplug microwave
Remove bottom of Microwave with phillips screwdriver.
Remove connecting wires to Motor
Remove Motor (2 Screws) with Torx Wrench.
Transfer seal from old motor to new moter
Re-install motor
Connect wires
Reinstall Bottom of microwave
Plug back into outlet

Unplugged the unit. With a screwdriver removed two screws on the top plastic vent. This exposed the screw holding the control panel. Removed that screw to access the switches. Removed the visible connected wiring from the switches. Grabbed each switch with pliers to gentle pull them from their holders. Inserted new switches and reconnecte ... Recommend replace all three switches.
