AFFC Frigidaire Freezer - Instructions

After removing the food and racks from the main body of the freezer, I had to remove 8 Philips-tipped screws that held the inside back panel cover on. I disconnected the fan motor from the main wiring harness, removed the fan mounting bracket (2 5/16" hex head screws), and then removed the fan motor from the mounting bracket (2 5/16" hex head bolts. I removed the fan blade and conducted a visual inspection, and found not blemishes of broken/damaged pieces. I mounted the new motor and used the existing fan blade, and replaced everything in the reverse order. I turned on the freezer and it has been operating perfectly since. I disassembled the old motor and discovered that the stator coils were worn, and the bearings allowed to much forward/aft motion.

Replace thermostat and show and tell made it easy.

I first noticed my ice cream getting soft. Then 2 days later the alarm went. I emptied the freezer, opened the panels and saw no frost. It's still not cooling even though I can measure the temperature at the front of the evaporator coil is cold but by the end of the coil it's almost room temperature. I think a repairman is called for.

Replaced the ptc starter switch. Fied the problem and she's running fine.

Ordered freezer key friday afternoon received it saturday afternoon. Fast service

replace thermostat and timer after defrosting and cleaning out freezer. I took less than 10 minutes and now freezer has a defrost cycle that eliminates frost buildup on the coils.

Took out three shelves. Removed 9 screws with a battery powered drill with a phillip screwdriver bit. Popped off the thermostat like I had seen on the video. Put the new thermostat on. pulled out freezer, went to floor,reached in next to compressor pulled off clip just like on the video.Pulled off old capacitator took off wire leads.Installed new one. Freezer runs great.Loaded it up with beef pork and venison. No problems.

Since everything about the freezer was working, I decided it had to be the temperature control. I ordered the part from Parts Select on a Monday and it arrived on Tuesday. I removed the two screws that hold the panel that covers the parts. The control was right there. Two more screws and it was out. Reverse the operation to install the ... Read more new part and just like that in less than 5 minutes my freezer was running like new.

We really didn t need to do a repair, we just ordered a freezer key that we didn t have. I must say the shipping was fast we received it the next day. It was worth the shipping charge. We will be ordering again. Great service.

I ordered a new thermostat and installed it in less than 15 minutes. Looks like the problem is fixed. Now ,the freezer cycles on and off correctly. The part was ordered on a Monday and I got it the next day. I am very satisfied.

Removed bottom cover , just two screws , slid old part through install hole and removed wires from old switch and installed on new switch. Installed new switch in same hole and pushed gently until it locked in place. Reinstalled bottom cover and done.
