ADB1500AWZ Amana Dishwasher - Instructions

I followed the you tube video exactly. Very easy to do. I did not tighten the screws sequentially as shown in the video, rather I did the opposite ones to make sure nothing was skewed. Very easy, about 20 minutes.

I removed screws in trim, kick panel and counter top. Turned off breaker at electric box, Dishwasher slid out easily. diconnected water line; so i could slide entire unit out of cabinet. Laid unit on side and cleaned up the water that leaked out.

Replaced unit into cabinet, connected water and turned on electric. no leaks, ran machine in rinse cycle, at time for pump I could hear and feel it was running, but no water. Evidently my original problem was the "air gap" device. I repaced it $4 at Home Depot and it works like a champ.
In hind site, the air gap probably ruined the old pump, so you might want to consider changing it out whenever you change the pump.

I removed the washer from under cabinet.Turn unit on its side,removed hose connection,removed mounting screws,disconnect wire plug and removed drain pump.
I put a small amount of sealant on pump where it contacts the tub and reversed the process. Parts received in record time and in great shape.

Impeller bolts to plastic chopper mount which is screwed to the top of the motor. Threads on chopper mount were stripped causing impeller to not spin fast enough (replacement mount, which is part of the chopper kit, is metal). Installtion was not difficult.

I removed flowplate assembly, chopper assembly, found that the plastic spindle was stripped causing arm not to spin. In the new seal kit, the spindle was made of metal (much better design). Troubleshooting: Noted soap dispenser full of apparently wetted soap, drying cycle dried to brick-like mess. Dishes full of soap particles, not clean. Water through floor and basement ceiling.

Pulled all racks (note arrows on ends of rack supports), used vice grips to remove bottom spray arm (better to use washcloth around lit ... Found stripped sleeve, but didn't understand function until I saw similar post on this site (Thanks!). Ordered seal and chopper kit, paid extra for "2 day" delivery and rx the next week due to holiday weekend (what's up with that? I ordered a linksys security camera on saturday and rx on Sunday from "Lasership"). Followed included instructions - worked fine. Note assembly order of pump with respect to water distribution assembly - I assembled and dissassembled twice due to forgetting interference.

First I shut off the water and electricity to the dishwasher. I removed the screws holding it in the cabinet and pulled the dishwasher out. Disconnect the water line and turn the unit face down on the floor. I disconnected the wire harness by pulling it out. It was a little hard to pull out. Then stand the unit upright, reconnect the water line (use teflon tape to prevent water leakage), put the dishwasher back in the cabinet, and restore power and water. Then you're done. It would have been very simple if I had used teflon tape the first time. I had a leak the first time I reconnected the unit and had to take it out again and apply the teflon tape. After that, everything was fine. The dishwasher works great.

I know that I have very hard water, but am reluctant to get a softener. I hope that changing the "guts" of the water delivery to my dishwasher will help...already replaced the filters which helped too... so far, it's a little better.

Removed the inter door panel replaced broken handle put panel back washed dishes

You just remove the old unit and set in the new unit. the wheels were already connected.

Removed the top rack and unscrewed the six screws involved on the rack adjuster. (Take note on how you took the thumb adjuster on top off for easier reassembly) Replace assembly on rack and slide rack back into dish washer. Kudos to PartSelect for getting my part here in less than 24 hours on a normal delivery charge.

easy repair. The foam has to go over some wires but if you stretch it alittle as you place it all goes well

PartSelect web-page for this model listed the handle as the most often ordered part. It arrived the next day after the order. It was necessary to remove about a dozen Torx screws to remove the back from the door. The power was turned off at the breaker.
