ACQ12 Whirlpool Air Conditioner - Instructions

My brother installed the motor/fan.
That part was easy. We had to clean out the a/c because it was full of leaves.

By doing this repair we saved $600.00The a/c is good to last a long time.

To get the repair I do take down the all unit apart and after that everything was ease, thanks.

I really didnt repair anything, but
I wanted to share with you,my experience with parts select. My order was processed lightning fast, the shipping was lightning fast, the remote was the correct one I ordered,and the whole experience was 100% perfect. Thank you so much.

Replaced the temp control and sensor. Controls on this unit are easy to get to and electrical connections were slide ons

Received the thermost from you in 2 days. (fast and reasonable shipping)

Removed 2 control knobs and front cover.

Removed 2 screws holding controls mounting plate. (About 3 X 6 inches in size)

Removed 2 screws holding thermostat in place.
Installed new trhermostat.

Checked the RAC and all ... Read more was OK.

As a matter of fact, I had to wait for the wife to finish cleaning the front of the RAC.

I am 75years young, retired, repaired appliances for a a short period when I was young before becoming a Factory sales rep. for RCA corp.

the main control panel had 6 wires pluged in to specific places 3 were for electricity and the other 3 for the AC controls.

even I can replace a control knob....

Unplugged unit.
Pulled front cover and removed switch knobs.
Pulled switch plate off and replaced thermostat switch and temperature sensor bulb assembly.
Reassembled and plugged in.
Unit works normal.

We inserted the batteries and the remote worked like a charm

First I unplugged the A/C. Then I removed the two screws from the front cover. Next, I removed the srews holding the front board. Then I removed the screws from the metal box which house the second board. Removed the second board and replaced with the new one. Final I did the same process backward. Removed the back - Saw the broken clips on the base of the dryer (the wires to the motor were pulling out because the motor was slipping).

Guessed that the parts were motor clips (no pix in the web site!)

Got the parts in post - they were identical except needed some rubber grips inside to hold tight (Used pieces of ... Read more bike tire inner tube cut to fit for this.) Attached clips. Works fine!!

(Son is an engineer - he found the problem. Husband is a retired doctor - he couldn't!! but together they
supplied the muscle)

i notice the window ac unit was making loud noise and than motor stop and the unit turn off itself then turn on , first i order the capacitor but at the end was the motor that was bad, i return the capacitor and i order new motor, now the ac window unit is working like new,,

put the knob on and pushed it as far as it would go.

Repair wasn't difficult but it took sometime to remove the old motor and install the new one. Many parts had to be taken apart to gain access to fan motor.

Removed a/c unit from window. Removed outer cover, front grill, Styrofoam ducting. Disconnected wires from control panel(noting color of wires to connections).
