to wire and inserted into oven through back of stove. Replaced covers. Plugged oven element to wires and tried out oven. WORKED ! Saved new oven element for next time. Difficulty encounted was lack of knowledge on where stove was screwed into counter-top and what size blade clip to buy. It always helps to have a dog 3" away just itching to lend a paw.

Assumed this broken hinge was going to be an expensive service call. Decided to try and fix it myself. Ordered the part off partselect.com and got some repair tips off the website that made this a breeze. I am not handy at all but was able to complete the replacement in less than 30 minutes and spent only $30 on the part. Just needed to u

nscrew the old hinge and release the spring from under the stove (which I accessed by pulling out the drawer). It would have cost me over $100 to just get a service person to look at it.

Flipped off the circuit breaker first. Unscrewed the two screws holding the element in place. Pulled out about 4-5 inches. Tried several times to pull apart the connections, finally got 'em - don't give up (I must have weak fingers). Then plugged in the new element, shoved the wires back in, screwed it back in place, flipped circuit br

I removed two small screws located on the underside of the control panel. I then rotated the bottom of the control panel up and dislodged the few connections at top back of control panel. The control panel became loose enough to lay forward exposing the inner control switches. The old problem switch wiring was removed one by one and place

The spark control module is located in the top section near the clock. Take off the back cover. Use needle nose pliers to disconnect the wires. The modules are marked with letters so connecting the new module is very easy. The range works great. My Kenmore is a 1985 model.

Instead of flipping circuit breaker, we pulled the oven away from the wall and unplugged it. Used socket wrench to loosen screws of bracket holding old element onto the back oven wall, then gently pulled element until connecting wires appeared. Removed the 'clips' attached to the old element prongs and discarded old element. Reattached

the 'clips' to new element prongs, then gently pushed prongs into back into oven wall until the bracket was flush with the wall. Used socket wrench to screw and tighten the bracket into place. Plugged in the oven and tested the new element to make sure it worked. The whole process took only a few minutes.....it took longer to clean the oven before installing the new element.

Removed oven racks and took the opportunity to clean my oven. Then removed the two hex head nuts holding the burner assembly in place. I slid out the burner (very slowly) hoping the connectors were intact and that there was enough lead wire to make for an easy repair. Yes... there were 2 inches of lead wire.
