Lifted range top, disconnected and labled wires from old switch, removed old switch, replaced wires on new switch, installed new switch.
NOTE: Local appliance store informed me that the electric cooktop was too old and that a replacement switch was not available and wanted to sell me a new cooktop for $795!
I found the switch ... Read more on PartSelect and repaired the cooktop. Total cost... UNDER THIRTY DOLLARS!!

I found the received switch (PS12070192) a poor replacement for the original, or even the earlier replaced part (PS11744446, in 2016) I was going to replace since the press/return feature seemed slow to return.
The male spade lugs on the received switch are so positioned that engagement is only possible if the lug is bent out ... Read more at a large angle. The lug set-back from the body edge, and the raised ribs on the sides still prevent full engagement of the connections.
I did install the new switch but found that was the only switch that didn’t give a signal light when turned on.
I have reinstalled the earlier unit.
Is part# PS 11744446 no longer available?

Disconnect power to burner module. Dissassemble module with nut driver. Screws connecting feed wires to burner were too corroded to remove. Cut wire close to screws, stripped insulation and inserted new ends into new burner. Reassembled module with nut drivers.

removed the end caps from the stove panel, unscrewed the back, unscrewed the old switch, CAREFULLY noting which wire went to which terminal, removed the wires.
Reversed the process. took a little longer because I felt compelled to do a thorough cleaning while I was there.

Pulled range out from the wall. Unplugged cord from outlet. h slack in the wiring to remove one wire at a time and connect it to the new switch in its appropriate place. Put new switch in the panel and secured with the two set screws. Select the bushing that would take up the slack for the old knob to fit on the new switch stem. Held new stem at its base with pliers and used another pair of pliers to snap the stem at appropriate length. (The new stem could not be broken off short enough to have the knob as flush to the panel as the other knobs...this was the only negative factor in the repair) Replaced nut-head screws and phillips screws. I was especially pleased with the quick delivery of the part...even without special shipping rates I received the part in less than 18 hours from the time I ordered it online!
