First I removed the oven door from the support hinges. Next I pulled the bottom pan drawer out to get to the tension spring. I released the tension from the hinge, unscrewed three screws that held the hinge in place. From there I replaced the hinge put all components back in place and did it all under 20 mins. The part was received with i n 3 days from PartSelect so I was very satisisfied with the service and ease of repair.

I removed the door by pulling up and away from the hinges. I then removed the drawer. I unhooked the tension spring by hand and noted the opening. I then removed the three screws on the hinge assembly, removed the ole part, and replaced it with the new one. I replaced the tension spring and slid the door back on to the hinges. I did it al l in less than 10 minutes.

Oven door was not opening all the way

The plastic wheel glide that the hinge runs back and forth on was worn off on one side so it was grinding and binding.
Remove storage drawer from under oven. Open the door to the special catch position and carefully lift door off the hinges - (not by the handle, hold onto both sides).
Take out three screws w/ a hex head nut dr iver, slip the hinge down into the hole, look under drawer area w/ flashlight and carefully unhook spring, while holding onto spring- pull old hinge out, see which hole has wear (that's the one you want to use of the three), insert new hinge all the way in and hook up spring. Pull hinge out and line up front plate w/ holes, insert 3 screws snugly. Done, awesome probably saved a 200.00 visit from the appliance guy. My husband thinks I'm amazing!

The bottons on the old clock were worn through
  • Jim from Philadelphia, PA
  • Easy
  • 15 - 30 mins

I removed the face of the range back. I did not need to remove the three screws in the back like I thought - just the two torx in the front panel. 2) I lifted the clock face assembly out and up. 3) Look at the very simple wiring. Mine had white and red wire coming out of the "power block". 4) I looked at the old circuit board to see which is line and which was neutral. There was no designation. 5) i removed existing wires. 6) I unscrewed the old clock from its moorings, and saved screws. 7) I made sure the up/down orientation of the new clock was the same as the old one. There is an "up" word on the new circuit board, but with the clock upside down, make sure the buttons are correct. BTW, I had to affix the new clockl/timer cover plate onto the replacement clock, using that "up" word on the new circuit board to orient it. 8) I attached the Red wire to the Line connector on the new circuit board, and the White wire to the prong labelled neutral. 9) I used the old screws to secure the new clock to the range back. 19) There was an extension wire included with the new clock. I did not need to use it. 11) I wrestled the clock/timer back into the range itself, using the two torx I removed to secure it. 11) The new buttons on the left (Timer and Clock) are reversed, so now the Timer is the top butting and the bottom now sets the clock. 12) I do not like the feel and action of the new buttons. They are very stiff, and not particularly easy to push.

Very easy job. Removed the 3 screws from the oven body, and slid the hinge out of the door. Slid in the new hinge, replaced the screws, and it was done. Very easy, wish I had done it sooner.
