Plate
Part #13271-7007
This metal plate, is an authentic manufacturer replacement part used in outdoor power equipment as a part of the governor assembly. It is one of the two plates attached to the end of the camshaft which plays a key role in regulating the engine speed. When the engine speed increases or decreases, the plates are forced outward or inward, thereby actuating the throttle and controlling the amount of air and fuel that enters the engine. This process allows the engine to maintain a consistent speed. If the plates become damaged or dislodged, you will notice fluctuating engine speed and poor load response. Before removing the plates, first disconnect the springs and linkage attached to them. Detach the plates from the camshaft and position the new ones in place.
Plate-Governor – Part Number: 13271-7021
$7.47

Plate-Governor
Part #13271-7021
This governor plate, also known as the governor control, is supplied by the original manufacturer for use in a variety of outdoor power equipment. It is a metal plate that works with the throttle linkage to allow the engine to maintain a consistent speed during operation. If the governor plate wears down or becomes damaged, you will notice that the engine will stall under load, and the revolutions per minute (RPM) in your equipment will fluctuate, causing over-speeding or under-speeding as well as inconsistent power output, and performance. Therefore, it is critical to replace this part if it is no longer working, in order to continue operating your equipment. You can find the governor plate near the throttle linkage assembly in your equipment engine. Depending on your model, you may need to remove the air filter housing to access the plate. Disconnect the throttle linkage from the governor plate and remove the faulty governor plate. Place the new one in position, secure it with the appropriate fasteners, and reverse-assemble the rest of the engine components to complete your repair.
