Original burner switch fell apart
  • Jim from Addison, TX
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Pliers, Screw drivers
Replacement was simple. Old switch was easily removed. Once I swapped the wires from old to new we were in business. One thing I would do differently than the included directions called for. I wish I had waited until I had installed the new switch to set the shaft length. I snapped off one too many sections of the shaft after measuring th e original shaft as recommended. If I had installed the replacement switch and then set the shaft length it would have been more accurate. Everything still works but one knob is now slightly lower than the other three.

plastic post for knob broke off
  • Graham from Bridgeville, CA
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
I broke the correct post from the new cluster of post selections and stuck it on. I had the kit for a couple of weeks before I realized that this was not an electrical problem. It would have been good of you to send only the new plastic post. That kit was intimidating for a 73 year old woman who lives in the country and does most of he r own plumbing and other household repairs. The repair took less that one minute.

I wanted to purchase new drip pans, since those that I have are a bit grimy
  • Hedy from Richmond, VA
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
I will begin by saying that not only will I continue to order my parts from PartsSelect, but I also highly recommend this business. If you call Whirlpool be careful that they forward your call for parts to some preferred vendor, which a customer might assume is Whirlpool but it is not. PartsSelect is the same type of business, but wit h outstanding customer service. With regard to the drip pan, Whirlpool had not updated the part number for these as I found out when i called them. Whirlpool no longer uses the drip pans without the holes which is a serious problem since this could be hazardous to the owners of these ranges if you are forced to purchase the drip pans with the holes in them. That said, I ended up keeping my old drip pans, because if you spill grease under the new ones with the holes in them and since the range design with the fan built in on the top does not allow you to lift the top to clean under the pans, you could end up with a grease fire. This is not the fault of PartsSelect and they handled my order in a manner that I would give them a rating of exceptional for customer service.

Burner no longer connected with electric power source
  • Barbara from Pacific Palisades, CA
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
I had determined that the the burner itself was no longer capable of connecting because when I removed another burner and inserted it, it worked just fine. Also, the defective burner had not worked when inserted into another outlet. I was delighted to be able to purchase a replacement so quickly and easily on my own, without having to cal l a repair person or seek a retail outlet.

  • timothy from south bend, IN
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Nutdriver
The repair only took me 10 minutes to do. I purchased the surface replacement kit from partselect.com. The part arrived in two days. The instructions were very simple. I read the instructions on line during my purchase. When I received the new part, I simply did the repair. Including shipping, the cost was less than $20.00. A service call would have been at least 5x the cost. Thank you for being there Partselect. (Tim from south bend indiana)
