867662 Kenmore - Instructions

Lift off blower vent cover. Lift out old filter. Clean walls and bottom of down draft using degrease soap and warm water. Dry. Discovered my grease filter will not install diagonally as shown in unit manual. Decided to drop into downdraft and put in front of fan suction. Found this left a gap at the top of fan suction that was not co ... Read more vered by the filter. Cut piece of wood 1 inch thick and width and length to drop down in the downdraft and lay on bottom. Set filter on top of wood in front of the fan suction. Verified that fan suction would pull filter tight against the opening by turning fan on and off. Put vent cover back over downdraft and told wife I was done.

I removed the center vent and inserted the filter...easy as pie...I went to your website and everything was there in an easy to follow way that even I could understand, my husband was totally impressed that I took care of it on my own....silly man.....it was so easy and delivery was extremely quick....so simple....thank you for making it ... Replaced the filter which required no tools.

Removed top of dryer and front panel. Keeping the front door closed I was able to start the unit and observe if the gas was igniting to heat the unit.
Found that no flame was present.
Examined the ignitor (found the locatino after utilizine this website parts diagram) and noticed it was cracked.
Ordered the new part and it ... Read more arrived two days later. Simple installation and ta daaa....ignitor works, hot dryer again.
*Only reason it took over half an hour was because I cleaned out all the internal vents while the unit was opened.
Basic mechanical abilities required here but remember to unplug the unit while working on it!

Remove igniter and replaced easy to do

After removing the front panel, the igniter just just snaps into the bracket.

I merely lifted the downdraft cover and inserted the new screen as
directed. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMPT RESPONSE TO MY ORDER.

Super easy. 2 screws allows you to remove the access panel. One screw on the igniter bracket removes the igniter. Pull off the 2 wire connectors and plug into the new one. Test the dryer and close the access panel.

Ordered a replacement grease filter.

Just placed new filter in slot

I carefully removed the disgusting old filter and took straight to trash. I then used my wet/dry vacuum to clean the rest of the loose debris from the area where the filter area is located. I used a clean, dry cloth to wipe the remainder of the material away and then carefully lowered the clean new filter down into it's new home. So ea ... very easy slip in

The old grease filter was removed and the entire downdraft was cleaned. The new filter was slipped in. It is so nice to have the old one out. I am so appreciative of finding this part. :-)

the filter fit because the scale in the photo allowed me to choose which one to buy!

tested all limit switches with electrical meter to see if they were bad. All switches tested and ohmed out fine. then looked in and saw a hot serfice ignitor and went right to the problem. Read more ance across the element, I instantly went on line and ordered the part.the part came in one day and it was the exact part nothing generic, put the part in and was drying clothes again in only two days. Thankyou so much and I hope to get another 5 yrs of drying clothes out of this appliance. Jim P.
