bulbs were not burnt out. received the new switch in a few days. watch the short video, was good to see how it comes out. used a putty knife to release the defective switch, removed wires put them on the new one and posed the new switch back in. Pull refrigerator out to access back, unplug unit and remove the 3 .25" screws cut the power leads to motor and install new with easy to understand instructions provided with new motor. Plug refrigerator back in and enjoy your cold beverages once more. EASIEST REPAIR EVER.

We looked up the problem online with the model number of the refrigerator. We ordered the part and followed the video installation that was sent with the order and was found online prior to purchasing

Eased the putty knife under the edge of the switch housing and pried it off. Pulled two wires off the old terminals and hooked them onto the new one and reinstalled into the refrigerator body.

It made so so easy watching the video. Thank you for that. I was ready to but a new one for about $800. but I did the repairs in about 20 minutes for about $23. Thank again

Had to defrost the freezer which takes most of the time. Once freezer is defrosted its a simple matter of disassembling and removing the cover which covers the evaporator and disconnecting the defrost thermostat and replacing with the new one then reassembling. The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new ligh ... Removed rear cover to see non-operating fan - removed three mounting screws on the motor that were a challenge to access. Swapped fan from old motor onto new motor - one threaded nut on the motor shaft. remove frozen food. take back panel off. use hair dryer to dethaw finned part. swapped defrost thermostat.one lead ok, other had to cut ends and wire splice together. replace panel and food. took care of problem, food in fridge stays cold. totally impressed with delivery time. ordered mon here tuesday. awesome..........

Pulled out the refrigerator and removed the two panels from the rear of the refrigerator. Removed the fan held in by four screws and unplugged the connector. Soldered on the original connector, installed the fan to the motor and re-installed the unit into the refrigerator. Then blew out and vaccumed the condenser coils.

Just as others discribed, removing ice maker, defrosting Freezer, removing freezer basket and shelf, removing the back panel, locating the iced over thermostat. One of the connectors wasn't the same, so I cut off the connector and wire from the old thermostat, spliced the wire and connector to the new one. Used heat shrink to cover the ... Read more splice. I used the original connector from the spent thermostat and waterproofed the connection with a 16g wire nut and electric tape. Works great! In hindsight I would have ordered the part earlier as this is a typical solution to a freezer frosting over. Manual defrost is a pain!

A very cold and brittle switch in a 17 year old fridge. Used screwdrivers to pry out with some resistance Had to cut the molded plug in half and split wires, because replacement contacts were farther apart than the original. End result, works great.

Remove trays and front drawer (2 screws, probably optional, but but easier to work with it removed). Remove the icemaker (2 screws), disconnect icemaker electrical connection. Remove back panel (bunch of screws). Once there, I heated up the coil to remove all the ice so I could get to the thermostat (it had become very clogged from not ... Read more being defrosted). Remove and replace the thermostat, then put everything back. Now works perfectly.

My husband took the plastic cover off and took out old bulb and screwed in the new one. Then put the cover back on.
