To replace the blade you will need a wrench in order to remove and resecure the blade bolt.

This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with riding lawnmowers. The washer is commonly used to provide a wider surface area to disperse the pressure put on the blade by the bolt that is fastened to the spindle. This washer is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.
