Got a harvest gold mixer from g maw and thought a project would be nice we have several of these mixers in the family i knew a 2 prong cord was not safe so i took apart the mixer and wanted to regrease it just give a lookie to see what i needed and then i decided after watching video on y tube to convert to a solid state.

Read more select as a whole has been very understanding as a whole and i will continue to get parts thru them they are genuine parts which is something i had to have i have 90% of my parts for a full overhaul we just cannot get the parts delivered fedex and usps i specify the address and they deliver 2 blocks east of the house thanks for honest neighbors usps was late as usual like i said parts select is outstanding at placing the order and appliances can be fixed super simple with the right tools the concern is with the fedex and usps now they are shorthanded but lets be real but when you deliver a package just triple check it is the right house !

I took apart the mixer housing and removed all the screws. The most difficult part was the two pins that needed to be removed with a metal punch. They were in fairly tight. had to replace the outlet strip and relocate the mounting screw,,,,wiring cord to the mixer was super correct and had to simply follow basic wiring (black to black,,,silver to silver,,,green to ground) ,,, the cord came with the correct mounting bushing already on the cord. Thx a bunch!

Simply removed damaged gears. Very simple to do. Ordered gears. Replaced gears. Both working well ( so far. ) Machines are easy to dismantle. Just be sure to put the screws back in the holes you took them out of when dismantling...no lost screws. On the smaller model, took pictures of the wire positions to be sure they were replace ... Removed back cover, disconnected the 2 push-on connectors, removed ground wire screw. Reversed the process to install new cord.

one speed and was surging. I noticed from other posts that it
is important to note the setting of the speed plate before you
remove it in order to remove the phase control board. Also be
careful removing the associated 'slip-on' terminals as it would

will go ahead and replace the speed plate, probably the cheapest
item to replace. The operation was a success and the mixer is

Replaced gasket and O-ring. Problem solved. POC (Piece of Cake).

I watched the university of YouTube videos, and followed their instructions.

Took each area apart. Replaced the gear and reassembled it.

Used youtube movies to disassemble the mixer and found that the gear was stripped. I kept the screws in labeled ziploc baggies so I wouldn't forget which screws went where. Once the part arrived, it was very simple to replace the gear. I regreased the mixer and then reassembled. The trickiest part was how greasy everything was! It was ... Read more also hard to get the pin through the beater hub - I found a video that suggested using a very slim screwdriver to thread the hole before inserting the pin. This was the most involved part replacement I've done on my own, and it was very satisfying to get my mixer back in working order!
