If you have this same model, you already know this ice maker is very slow in making ice and is not able to keep up with daily usage of ice for a household of 3.

The Ice Maker from Part Select was complete. Plastic housing, Ice maker located at the top and ice cruncher/dispenser at the bottom.
Note: Both the ice maker and the dispenser wiring goes to a common connecter. It is not advisable to plan changing out only one of these.

Fortunately, others had left comments about this installation, so proved very helpful. First thing was laying out the gasket flag on the counter to allow it to unbend, get out the kinks from shipping. While the new gasket was laying out on the counter, started removing the old gasket. A very helpful suggestion from others was to lightly rub dishwashing soap on the gasket edge that fits in the groove in the door. Again, slow and careful, got it installed, wiped off any excess dishwashing liquid, and the door closed with a better seal in a long time. Pleasantly surprised how easy this was to do!

All I had to do was remove original Pullout Drawer that holds the ice cubes from the bottom ice machine. Replaced the old Pullout Drawer
with the new one. Original tray pulls out to it's stopping point and all I had to do was lift it up and pull it out. The New tray fit right in and I was done. Completed in less then 5 min. and No ... Read more tools needed.

Part Select had a great video which made the repair easy, using a putty knife to start removing the freeze door gasket. Once removed the install is simple just snap the new gasket into the track, but start at the corner. The repair was an easy replacement. The problem was the LG part was no longer available from LG or any of the other places I tried. The PartSelect customer service representative was a true professional and did an outstanding job of helping find the correct part (LG's diagram was unreadable) and cross-referenced it to find the the part th ... Read more at PartSelect actually had in stock. I had the part in four day. The best customer service I have had in years. I lost his name but the order was 13449146. He deserves a raise!

I ordered the needed parts, the correct ones I thought, but when they arrived, I realized they were the wrong parts shipped to me. The reason the wrong parts were shipped to me was because PartsSelect failed to advise me there were none of the parts I needed available so they shipped the left hand basket assembly, door, versus the desire ... That's how I did the repair.

Simply removed old gasket. Started in a corner with installing the new gasket. It went in easily and quickly.

I started by emptying the food out of the refrigerator. Because of the placement of the refrigerator, it was hard for me to open the doors all the way, but I managed to remove the vegetable drawer, the fruit drawer, the deli drawer drawer, and glass that goes in the tray. Using my steam cleaner, I cleaned everything that I could and the refrigerator actually looked almost brand new.
I removed the deli tray to have more room to get the whole tray and side guides . Once you do that. the tray is actually very easy to replace. The guides were still in pretty good condition although I ordered one more because it did have a small crack and eventually it will break.
You remove the three guides (left, right, and center) from the old tray and attach the new tray fram.
Sounds Easy, right?
It takes a bit of finagling because " the magic tray" which is part of the vegitable drawer has to be placed before you put the right guide on. this process is a bit awkward. if you can get an extra hand, it helps. After that, it was very easy to just put things back and I took this opportunity to clean the rest of my refrigerator and re-organize. I am going have to do this again because I have to replace the right guide, which has a crack, but so far it's working great it is not a problem. Nothing that a little duct tape can't solve until the real thing comes along. This project took longer than I thought it would. But that was primarily because I also cleaned the refrigerator, and put the right guide on before I figured out I had to put the humidifier cover in first. I think that's really the key step here.
I leave you with this: I researched how to find these parts and this site t was great. I can replace all of the hardware that breaks in my refrigerator for less than it costs to buy a new refrigerator. My friend felt I should just dump the refrigerator and start new. As other DIY people, that was like fingernails on a chalkboard for me. It's wasteful to the environment and economically unfeasible. So celebrate your project's end!

Removed screws from broken Multi Ducts, pulled broken pieces from ice maker and replaced new Multi Ducts.

Removed upper drawer/basket from freezer

Removed 2 Philips screws

Removed rail bracket assembly

Reinstalled reversing those steps

Works like new.
