795731 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

1. Shut off water to refrigerator. 2. Removed bottom sheet metal cover (6 screws). 3. Removed leaking water inlet valve assembly from refrigerator (1 screw). 4. Remove water inlet tube (loosen nut) and tube back to refrigerator (pull from water valve after remove cotter pin washer). 5. Detach two electrical wire harnesses. 6. Install new ... Read more water inlet valve assembly to refrigerator (1 screw). 7. Replace both water tubes to water inlet assembly. 8. Re-attach both wiring harnesses. 9. Turn water to refrigerator on. 10. Check for leaks. 11. Re-attach bottom sheet cover (6 screws).

Video makes it look easy. Kenmore refrigerator does not have "groove" along the right hand side of switch that allows for pushing down on release. Used a thin screwdriver to get under to push while holding switch edge with pliers. Kept slipping. Tape sides to avoid scratching inside of refrigerator.

I pulled the gasket off and installed the new one. It was very easy. All I had to do was to push the new gasket in place in the grooves in the door. The gasket I received was identical to the one I replaced.

Unscered 2 screws, unplug electrical connection under the screws, slide her flap into grooves, realign screw holes , and rescrew in. Done.

So easy I couldn't believe I'd done it so quickly. Two minutes from start to finish. Pull the old one off and press the new one in.

Shut off water supply. Disconnect main supply line. Remove rear lower panel on back of refrigerator. Remove all tubing clamps on back. Disconnect leaking tubing from water supply valve. Remove water filter and unscrew/remove water filter housing. Replace tubing - connect to water filter housing then to water supply valve. Reconnect filter ... Read more housing and filter. Reinstall lower panel, then main water supply line, then all tubing clamps. Turn water back on and check for leaks after discarding several glasses of water to fill filter. Job complete!

For the right side of the refrigerator door, just pulled off the old gasket and replaced it with the new one. Old gasket came off easily. Just had to pull it off. No screws on the right side. Just pushed the new one in place in the groove on the door.

Once flap was off, pulled the old gasket off and installed the new one just like the right side. Then screwed the flap back on once the gasket was in the groove properly.

Initially after install, it seemed like the magnet on the door was not strong enough but after a couple of days, the magnet seems a lot stronger, sealing the air out. Very happy I replaced it. It was a lot simpler to replace than I thought it would be.

Had to buy the entire door mullion because the spring broke, wasn't happy. Got the new part very quickly and it was a new replacement part number. Somewhat tentative. Soak new gasket in hot water in bathtub to soften while removing old gasket. No tools required, it was a little difficult pulling old gasket out but once you get it started part way out it will come out real easy. By the time you get the old gasket out the new gasket will be warm and easy to get started into the groove it pops into. Start ... I called the Partselect and explained that the part with the heating element is one piece. (Heating Coil Thermistor or Heating Coil). By replacing that piece solved the Error Code issue. I listened to Youtube for the instructions on how to replace the Heater Coil. So if you see the Error Code dH F, you need to replace the Heating Coil, which comes in
one piece and sits on the bottom of the Defrost Element.

Saved me $175.00 to $250.00 for an appliance repairman to come to my house for this. Absolutely simple to do. Pull gasket from right side door, no tabs or screws. I started with the right door and just pulled the gasket off. I then made sure which gasket was for that door and aligned it with the old gasket to make sure of top and bottom. Reinstall the mullion and you are done. This one takes about ten minutes. DONE!!

Used putty knife to pry out the old gasket, pressed new one in place. Very easy, done quickly. About 10 minutes.

For this model the ice maker is very easy to replace. All it takes is a phillips head screwdriver. There are two wire connections you have to unplug. Easy out easy in.
