I installed the new 3 wire ice maker very easily, but it was defective. I was told that instructions for the return of the defective part would be sent later due to the virus. I have never received the return instruction.
I did receive a credit for the defective part. VERY Satisfied with y’all’s service.

Took off the French door Mullen by unscrewing middle area. Unconnected the wires for the door sensor. Then detached old gasket and replaced with new gasket. Reattached the wiring and snapped Mullen flap in place and finally rescrewed to the door. Seal is very good now.

I had previously watched a YouTube video (do this first!!) on a similar Kenmore model so I knew what to look out for: (1) turned off power, (2) took thin putty knife to slip under outer lip of switch (most screwdrivers are too thick), (3) wiggled switch at front end to release the tab, (4) unplugged from the socket, (5) plugged in new sw

itch, (6) popped new switch back into door, (7) turned on power. Voila !! Super easy. I couldn't believe it.

Part Select had a great video which made the repair easy, using a putty knife to start removing the freeze door gasket. Once removed the install is simple just snap the new gasket into the track, but start at the corner. Other company's have a video requiring you to remove the entire freezer compartment out of the appliance, unnecessary w

Replace with new switch. this is the third switch i have replaced in 10 years. the only part, besides a light bulb, that has gone bad. obviously this is a problem with this model for Kenmore, or just poor switch design.

I have moderate to good mechanical skills, but getting the old switch out was a sizeable challenge. Since this switch suffered some damage during extraction, I was lucky to have ordered a new one to replace it. Reinstall took approximately 90 seconds. PartSelect saved me an expensive service call.

Called a local repair shop to get the problem diagnosed. Nice repair guy came out and was pretty confident that it was the main board . However his supplier had it on backorder and had a 7 day shipment estimate. When he told me I got on the internet and parts select had the part in stock with a 2-3 business day arrival. I rolled the dice

and ordered it. Came the next day via Fed x. It took me 15 minutes to put it in and so far so good. Without the diagnosis I would have been in the dark as to what was wrong so it was worth the fee for the service call to get an expert diagnosis

1. Unplug the refrigerator (to avoid shock) 2. With one screwdriver pry open the switch on the side facing the door to a gap of about 1/8 inch 3. Insert a second screwdriver into the gap to press the plastic tab back slightly and this should release the part. 4. pull the part out and unplug it, you may have to pry back some small tabs o
