79558819901 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

To replace the warped tray, I found the service manual (pg. 124 below) which took some interpreting.
Removed the lever. Then removed the assembly by two screws that are forward to the unit and go upwards.
The insulation, sensor, and sensor cover are simply pulled down and off and the unit separated to removed the tray, and ... Read more then insert the new tray. Proceed in reverse. Takes only a few minutes.

This site was awesome! I was able to very quickly look up my refrigerator model, find the proper part number, and order the part. The only suggestion I would make is to update the cut sheet with a more clear version, it was a little difficult to make out the part number because the scan/drawing was fuzzy, but I was still able to make it ... Read more out. Got the part in the mail very quickly and it was super easy to remove the old rail and install the new one. Take out the screws from the old one, remove the old rail, line up the holes, install the new one, and put back the screws. It's so nice to have a site like this to fine parts and order them! Very easy to replace right and left rail 3 screws on each side

First ,I unplug the refrigerator .
2nd i remove the back cover, clean the dust.
3th disconnect the water line, remove the all valve..
4th unplug all the wires and code ea with a No,remove the water lines

Replaced water pump assembly, all compression fittings easy to put together

Just replaced the old shelves with new

It was a "snap to complete it" inasmuch as the part just snapped in.

Removed the cover 2 screws
Squeezed the 2 side sleeves and removed
Snapped in new button, replaced the cover. Done

Removed shelf that rails were mounted to. Used a std phillips screwdriver to loosen screws attaching the rails, three per side. Removed damaged rails, lined up new rails and tightened screws. Returned shelf to refrigerator and inserted tray on the new rails.

Simply removed the drawer, then removed the shelf above which held the guides, removed the guides ( 3 screws per side )and replaced them.

Just unscrew screws from old rails (still in refridgerator ), and screw them into new rails. We tried to order these parts from another online part site and we got the wrong parts. Partselect.com had drawing of our fridge and it was very easy to navigate through the web site. Thank you!

Changed door switch. Repair worked for a few days but re-occured. Possibly the other switch is bad .

The part was extremely easy to replace. The unit came out with one screw, and I had to unplug the wire connection. After removing I noticed the ice tray was cracked - that's what caused the problem. The new unit went in easily with 1 plug in connection and 1 screw. I was done in less than 10 minutes.

I took the ice out with one screw and took out the old tray the new one slipped right in and I hooked up the little heat strip with one snap works perfect cost $10 I was told by appliance repair tech that I needed to replace the ice maker for $450 saved $440 dollars replacing the bent or warped ice tray

With alot of elbow grease and a pair of pliars we managed to get the old connector off wo cuttig the tubing as the tubing was getting to short from being cut once to many times & there was no more play in the length.Original connector was a different color and shapped slightly different than the new one so was a bit concerned that I had ... Read more ordered the wrong part but it went one very easily & did not leak. We even managed to remove it again just to see if it was possible wo cutting again. it came off with no trouble.I would say the replacement part was a better fit than the original simply because we could remove it easily wo having to cut the tube!
