79096213402 Kenmore Range - Instructions

I replaced the bulb using my hands to twist the bulb in the socket located at the top of the refrigerator.

Husband very ill in bed. It's up to me!! Got a new bulb at HomeDepot and figured out how to get that wire 'thing' back in and the new glass cover installed. I DID IT!! WOW! Replaced switch by according to video with no issues, Terminals were nearly identical as the new switch.

This cause me to have to rotate the warming burner because rotating the new burner, the terminals interfered with the terminals on the warming burner. I also had to reposition some of the wires so they would not contact the burner and terminals.

With no install instructions (NOT good for diy-ers), looked through reviews and watched video for help. Replacement part - not same as original. We removed the old part and replaced it then when warming the oven all of a sudden there was a loud noise and something went and so we called a repair man which I guess we should of done in the first place. Now he has ordered a part that cost 170 soo that is my story don't try to repair if you don't have experience.

The bulb has a plastic clear cover. That cover can just be carefully removed using a screwdriver. It's held in by a metal bracket. After you remove the cover. You'll just need to replace the bulb and then re-install the cover and bracket.

Very easy just had to pull the wire up that holds it secure.

NEED A QUARTER INCH SOCKET FOR THE BOLTS. REMOVE THE BACK PANEL AND THEN YOU WILL SEE THE TWO ELECTRIC WIRES GOING TO THE TERMINALS OF THE ELEMENT. DISCONNECT AND THEN GO TO THE FRONT OF OVEN AND REMOVE THE FOUR BOLTS THAT HOLD IN THE TOP ELEMENT. SIMPLY, VERY SLOWLY PULL THE ELEMENT FORWARD UNTILL IT CLEARS THE BACK AND YOUR GOOD TO GO. ... My friend used a tester to determine where each wire was supposed to connect to. I'm not sure what he did with the extra connections.
Bottom line is this part should work but you need an expert to do it for you because it's, like I said, not exactly like the one to be replaced.

After settling that it was the Surface Element Switch, ordering and securing the switch, the first step was to disconnect the power to the Oven/Range. Next pull out the Range and remove the back and disconnect the switch from the top of the Range. Using the new switch I removed the wire connectors from the old switch and reconnected them ... Read more to the new switch in the same spot that they came from. After connections were secure I reattached the switch to the back of the Range and reattached the back of the Range. When everything was back in place the power source was reconnected and that was it.

New ones fit perfectly. Take a minute to bend the frame straight. Then and I used oversize screws on the replacement parts as the drop had stripped out the screw holes of the frame.

turned off breaker 3 Phil screws open door and on inside range top I would reconmend a board to hold top up square tip for cross bar and pliers to pull wires off fit perfect works really nice
