79093751102 Kenmore Range - Instructions

There were only 2 screws that held the door handle & cap in place, removed screws & handle to get cap pieces off. Ordered new cap, - lost screws - cap delivered - no screws had to order screws, damn! They're expensive too !! Got screws, installed handle & cap, now wife is happy again!

Very easy just had to pull the wire up that holds it secure.

NEED A QUARTER INCH SOCKET FOR THE BOLTS. REMOVE THE BACK PANEL AND THEN YOU WILL SEE THE TWO ELECTRIC WIRES GOING TO THE TERMINALS OF THE ELEMENT. DISCONNECT AND THEN GO TO THE FRONT OF OVEN AND REMOVE THE FOUR BOLTS THAT HOLD IN THE TOP ELEMENT. SIMPLY, VERY SLOWLY PULL THE ELEMENT FORWARD UNTILL IT CLEARS THE BACK AND YOUR GOOD TO GO. ... Pulled oven out, took the screws out of back plate cover plate with socket wrench, pulled connectors out through the back, removed the door, pushed the element rods through the two holes, connected the two wires, screwed the element in, put the hangars on for the element, put the back plate on and turned the broiler on, worked great, put ... Remove backing then unplug 2 wires and remove 2 screws, install new unit replace screws and backing plug it in all done less than 1/2 hour.

Once I recieved the new part it was easy to determine what two screws to remove to remove both the panel and the handle. I removed the two screws, slid the panel up and removed it. The new panel locked into place when slid down over the door and I replaced the sctews.

Plugged the new one in and it worked.
I did search out Frigidaire parts and there are other types tha may or may not work. Calrod burners are not all that unusual. I went with the real thing.

Unplugged the element and the melted on pot. Plugged in the new element. I thought I might need a whole new cooktop but a new element was very easy to find online.

I unplugged the damaged unit and plugged in the new one.

On this website, I found an instruction manual for this stove. There were 2 pages about how to change the glass on the oven door, including diagrams. I'd also checked a generic youtube video on changing inner glass on oven doors too, although the hinges in the youtube demo weren't exactly like those in mine. I printed out the instruct ... Read more ions, checked the oven door to make sure the hinges looked like those in the diagrams, set aside a couple of hours on a free day with no other distractions, and did the job. I just kept removing screws from the inside oven door, peeling back the layers of the onion, until I got to the innermost glass, which was cracked. Put the new glass in, put it back together. On youtube the guy said it would take 20 minutes. It took me about an hour. Saved a ton of money by doing it myself.

First I unplugged the element that wasn't working and switched it with one that was to confirm that it was the burner element, and not the cooktop wiring, that was the problem. I just plugged it into the receptacle on the stovetop and turned the thing on, and it worked! I'd been without the 4th burner for quite some time. Nice to have it back!

Really a no brainer, but I do have to say that PartSelect customer service is excellent. My part was located and on it's way within a day and arrived a couple of days later.
