Oven was not heating up properly
I followed the video on the website. The probe is on back of the oven. Just unplug part and replace. That was not our fix all though as I later found that the igniter was not working. The igniter is also an easy fix but you access it through the front of the oven. Also an easy swap.
Oven is working great now.
Our issues kind of fell between two of the descriptions so I went with high percentage cheaper fix first.
If your oven is intermittingly getting hot or to temperature of 100, it is probably the igniter.
Have used PartsSelect for Washing Machine, Dryer, Refridgerator and now the Range. Super easy to figure out needed parts and videos walk you through the repair.
Very easy to order, part was delivered promptly and installation was easy.I unscrewed a few screws and lifted the bottom panel out and put the new one in.
It went really well until test when the flame was reaching up into the oven itself, not good. Much research finally found an older repairman who informed me the nozzle that injects the gas into the oven burner had to be fully screwed down for LP Gas. The unit is pre-set for Natural Gas. Tightened it all the way down and everything works just fine. We live rurally so use Liquid Propane Gas, not Natural Gas.
Stove was dropped and had broken, bent frame and adjuster feet
New ones fit perfectly. Take a minute to bend the frame straight. Then and I used oversize screws on the replacement parts as the drop had stripped out the screw holes of the frame.
oven temp was not heating up to desired temp and using an oven thermometer to confirm
moved the range out to access back removed 5 screws from back panel removed 1 screw from thermostat installed new one replaced screws, done in 20 minutes problem solved
The bulb has a plastic clear cover. That cover can just be carefully removed using a screwdriver. It's held in by a metal bracket. After you remove the cover. You'll just need to replace the bulb and then re-install the cover and bracket.
The seal around the oven door had frayed on the end and come loose.
We carefully pulled the old seal out of the door ( staples hold it in place). Then took the replacement and laid it around the door. Starting at one side we adjusted the seal and pushed the staples into place. Making sure we folded the ends, we used a spoon to push them into the slots.
I changed the temperature sensor and tried again. The stove again went on temp runaway and it was suggested to replace control board which is out of stock. I will have to toss out this stove and buy new as you and no else has this part.
I followed the guidance of the YouTube video presented by Steve from your company. It was very easy and direct. The only issue I had was disconnecting the igniter clip, once I wa able to remove the old one, everything else was simple. I really appreciate this video because it saved me a ton of money for repair cost. I will use this process again even if it is my refrigerator because it is a Frigidaire also. Thanks to Steve who was very direct, on point, and patient with making this repair video. Kudos!
