79009 (AWB1SER) LG Refrigerator - Instructions

Used a small screw driver inserted into the front of the switch (facing the front) and pried until the switch was coming out. When out, I removed the connect harness and replace the switch with a new one.

Easy install, small screwdriver under back of old switch push out and pull out with small pliers. unsnap the old plug and install new. YOUR DONE

Used putty knife to extract switch
Used screwdriver to separate connector from switch

Pushed switch assembly into opening

Covered the sidewall with tape to protect. Pried the switch out with knife blade and removed electric plug with needle nose pliers. placed plug in new switch and pushed switch into the hole in the side wall. Took about five minutes.

Just put the drawer in and it was ready to go. Like those kind of repairs

Cover the putty knife with tape so you do not scratch the side wall where the switch is located. Slide the knife under the edge of the switch and push in a bit towards the switch and slightly twist to pop the switch out of its hole. My son just pried out the old switch with a screw driver snapped out the old one and snapped in the new one. Pretty sure even I could have done this. Very quick and easy. Thanks. :-)

Unplugged the fridge. Used a screwdriver to loosen the switch. Easy to disconnect from fridge and just plugged the new switch in. Popped right back into the side of the fridge and worked perfectly.

I popped the old switch out of place and then disconnected the wire harness from the switch with a pair of needle nose pliers. I then inserted the harness into the new switch and popped the switch into place. Super easy and fast.

I was told the mother board went out. Took a few months to finally get one myself after repairman didn't come through. It was the freezer fan but even after installing it nothing would work is why we ordered the controller assembly. after 2 days and about 7 hours of checking, taking apart, rechecking assembling by my determined electrician it turned out to be a loose wire. IMPORTANT: REPAIR EASIER WITH ASSISTANT! Pull frig from kitchen cabinets & unplug. Remove food from freezer & frig doors. Have assistant hold freezer door closed against freezer. Remove hinge cap from top of freezer along with hardware using socket wrench. Carefully lift freezer door from hardware that joins the bottom of the freezer door ... Read more to the top of the frig door. Rest freezer door upright off to the side. Have assistant open frig door & SUPPORT BOTTOM. Remove hardware from top of frig using crescent wrench & screwdriver. Carefully lift frig door off joint & lay on side to gain access to hardware on bottom. Remove hardware using a screwdriver & replace worn nylon bushing. Reverse disassembly steps. Remove frig & freezer door shelves & clean inside. Clean outside frig, especially the back vents. Clean the floor where frig lives & push back into place. Enjoy clean SELF-CLOSING, NON-GRINDING frig door!

Tape off the light button so door alarm does not go off. Take off the clear light shield and remove the light bulbs. Be careful, bulbs may still be HOT!! With Phillips head screw driver unscrew the light plate assy. Drop it down in a comfortable position. Disconnect the connector, unscrew the thermal sensor and remove light assy. Install ... Read more new light assy into light plate assy. There is no thermal senor in the new assy. Snap light plate assy back into place and install the two screws previously taken out. Install bulbs and clear cover. Remove tape from light door switches and you are done. Lights should go on and off when door buttons are pushed in and out.
