Expensive to have repair man come out and find out that I’ve been mailed wrong spring again. My icemaker is on the left hand side this is the side of refrigerator- I need the spring for left side with the ice maker. Twice they have mailed me the Wrong spring that goes on the right hand side I have tried to explain this to the person that ... Read more waits on me. Do I have to pay for another spring and mail this one back ?i have mailed one back and postage is getting expensive.

First, remove power to the refrigerator.

To replace the ice maker you first have to remove the back mounting assembly, which ice maker is attached to.

Only three Phillips head screws need to be removed: 2 on the bottom and 1 on the back of the ice maker mounting assembly. Do not remove the two diagonal Phillips head ... Read more screws holding the dispenser motor on the reverse side of the mounting assembly.

As you pull out the mounting assembly to the front you will see a connector on the top inside, which must be unplugged. A narrow standard screw driver will help the connector lock to release; slide the screwdriver tip under the connector lock clip and it will allow the connector to be unplugged.

Once the ice maker mounting assembly is removed and placed on a flat surface it will be self evident as to how to remove and replace the ice maker. The 1” tape might be needed during the cable re-routing process. However you can reuse the original tape required to be removed during the ice maker remove and replace process, if possible.

Reinstall the ice maker mounting assembly in the reverse order it was removed.

Apply power to the refrigerator.

Cycle the ice maker to Off and then back to On. It may take an hour or two before the ice maker produces ice because the temperature inside the ice maker must reach “0” degrees Fahrenheit before it will begin making ice.





Pull the ice maker

Removed two screws from door and three locking brackets with a small common screw driver. Raised the bracket, slide in the spring, held down the bracket, installed screws and plastic covers. Less than 2 minutes. Easy application no problem with the new spring or ,mullion..

Removed the 2 Phillips head screws that attach the flipper assembly to the door. Slide the flipper assembly up to disconnect the top & bottom bracket. Disconnect the quick connect wire assembly behind the center hinge bracket and remove the flipper assembly. Install the new flipper assembly in reverse order.

Removed mullion strip with Phillips screwdriver replaced spring reinstalled the mullion strip all in about 15 minutes.

I bought the ice assembly motor only, super easy to install, remove the three main screws, lift out assembly, detach the cable. Then remove the screws on the parts, lift the tape, redo everything in reverse and it works flawlessly!

The only tool required was a Phillips screwdriver. I disassembled the old icemaker and unplugged the electrical snap in device. I removed the ground wire. Then reversed the steps in replacing the refrigerator ice maker kit assembly. It took slightly over 30 minutes to remove and replace the ice maker.

Swapped old one with new one. New one had extra plug not needed.

Removed the old one and replaced with new just remember do your do diligence watch YouTube videos makes repair a lot easier

I disconnected the refrigerator power, removed the 2 screws holding the mullion door on the left side of the refrigerator French-door (it’s the flap that allows the door to close). Took the old one out and put the new one in.

removed cracked one and install new part without tools.

I just followed the instruction on the part , and everything was very easy.

Took pics of original install, removed old valve, water tubes & plugs. Installed new valve, reconnected electronic plugs, water tubes, turned water back on and all has been well since. Thank you for your timely delivery!

Pulled the fridge out.
Unscrewed the back cover and the one screw holding the value assemble.
undid the 2 hoses and replaced the part.
