71079 (AWBCSE4) LG Refrigerator - Instructions

1. Shut off water to refrigerator. 2. Removed bottom sheet metal cover (6 screws). 3. Removed leaking water inlet valve assembly from refrigerator (1 screw). 4. Remove water inlet tube (loosen nut) and tube back to refrigerator (pull from water valve after remove cotter pin washer). 5. Detach two electrical wire harnesses. 6. Install new ... Check for leaks. 11. Re-attach bottom sheet cover (6 screws).

Found the broken spring; matched it with parts diagram. Googled for sources via part number. Selected this site because it had best deal - price, availability, shipping. Part arrived as predicted; installed it in 2 minutes. Job done. Door now works.

When I sent an email about this and asked for a replacement, I was told I would need to send it back. I wrote back and reiterated that the glass was shattered and did they really want me to send it back. I again said just send me the replacement. The part was $47.91 when I first purchased it. Now to reorder it is $54.98. I saved it in my shopping cart so I can shop around before purchasing this again. I am disgusted that I need to go through this again and now at a higher price. I have more parts to order but am reconsidering do so.

I looked at the picture I took. Used needle nose pliers and inserted one end. Unless the lady of the house is very strong, this should be handled by a man, because of the rigid spring. Unplugged fridge, shut off water supply disconnected water supply from fridge. Remove screws that hold lower cover on back of fridge, removed screws holding valve assembly to fridge. Removed mullion strip with Phillips screwdriver replaced spring reinstalled the mullion strip all in about 15 minutes.

Took old door strip (spring broke) and installed new with spring It went well and was working in less than 5 minutes

Expensive to have repair man come out and find out that I’ve been mailed wrong spring again. My icemaker is on the left hand side this is the side of refrigerator- I need the spring for left side with the ice maker. Twice they have mailed me the Wrong spring that goes on the right hand side I have tried to explain this to the person that ... Read more waits on me. Do I have to pay for another spring and mail this one back ?i have mailed one back and postage is getting expensive.

Removed two screws from door and three locking brackets with a small common screw driver. Raised the bracket, slide in the spring, held down the bracket, installed screws and plastic covers. Less than 2 minutes. Easy application no problem with the new spring or ,mullion..

Removed old bin and replaced with new bin

Swapped old one with new one. New one had extra plug not needed.

Unscrew two Phillip screws on center hing , push frt plate down and replace.

The glass was ordered correctly. The part was too big for mt refrigerator. I tried to send it back, but I got no reply. I tried cutting the glass to size and it shattered. I wasted 60.00 and im disgusted with your company.

The past I ordered was broken upon delivery. I asked for a replacement and was refunded the charge. Tried to contact you but "due to covid" you aren't taking calls. Net result: I ordered the part from another source, got it, installed easily. Won't use you again.

1. I ordered a shallow bin which fit the left hand door by mistake as I couldn't enlarge the pictures. So when it arrived and I realized it fit the left door but not the right door I went back on line and had a chat with a wonderful chat person who ordered and sent the 2 right hand shelves., As it happens the drawings on the website were ... Read more so small I did not realize that the bottom right hand shelf should have been shallower to accommodate the vegetable bin on the bottom of the refrigerator. So I removed the butter bin with the flip top and moved all the shelves up to clear the vegetable drawer and give me the same amount of storage as I had to begin with. I also think the replacement bins are a marginally heavier plastic and therefor may last longer.
