Repair? What repair? I just removed the old drip bowl and replaced it with the new one. Piece of cake.

I removed the burner elements for three burners by lifting the surface top and unplugging them. I snapped out the plug sockets that were burned out and cut the two wires, one element at a time. Using the included wire nuts I stripped the ends of the cut wire and connected each wire to one of the wires on the new socket. Once the wires ... Read more were connected I snapped the sockets in place and reinstalled the elements, lowered the surface top and the range was ready to use.

Cut broken wire and existed wire off and put splice on both new and old wires to connect them.
It's easy job.

After buying a 'universal' part at Lowe's and it not fitting correctly and shorting out the burner, I went online and found this source for an exact replacement part. Beside having to disassemble the drop in stove burner two or three times it went well when I had the correct part. I lost one screw somewhere and that delayed me a short t ... Simply slide out old coil by lifting cooktop pan; position new coil electirc elements in oven slots, slowly push in, then push coil tab into slot in pan for balance. No problems

Used new plug in coil burner.

I will begin by saying that not only will I continue to order my parts from PartsSelect, but I also highly recommend this business. If you call Whirlpool be careful that they forward your call for parts to some preferred vendor, which a customer might assume is Whirlpool but it is not. With regard to the drip pan, Whirlpool had not updated the part number for these as I found out when i called them. Whirlpool no longer uses the drip pans without the holes which is a serious problem since this could be hazardous to the owners of these ranges if you are forced to purchase the drip pans with the holes in them. That said, I ended up keeping my old drip pans, because if you spill grease under the new ones with the holes in them and since the range design with the fan built in on the top does not allow you to lift the top to clean under the pans, you could end up with a grease fire. This is not the fault of PartsSelect and they handled my order in a manner that I would give them a rating of exceptional for customer service.

The repair only took me 10 minutes to do. I purchased the surface replacement kit from partselect.com. The part arrived in two days. The instructions were very simple. I read the instructions on line during my purchase. When I received the new part, I simply did the repair. Including shipping, the cost was less than $20.00. A service call ... This is a no brainer. I am only doing this because you asked. Pull out the stove, tilt it back, remove broken leg, install new leg.
