6046 Frigidaire - Instructions

Removed two screws removed and replaced panel.

Drawer glide came off oven drawer. Wish I had taken old part off and inspected more closely. I thought tab had broke off. Turns out these glides are made of steel and very robust. So my advice is take old glide off first and inspect carefully.

It took me more time to find the right tool then to remove and replace the element. If I can do it anybody can do it. Removed two (2) screws with a nutdriver. Detached the element replaced with new element and replaced screws. Easy job!

The repair was easy. We removed the door with the lever on both sides of the door. Unscrewed four screws and inserted the new glass. It took about 45 mins. It worked perfectly.

I changed the temperature sensor and tried again. The stove again went on temp runaway and it was suggested to replace control board which is out of stock.
I will have to toss out this stove and buy new as you and no else has this part.

I watch you tube of how to repair to gain my confidence and attempted the project. It was fairly easy. I took photos of wires so I wouldn’t make any mistakes. Boom ! Finished and works like a charm!!

I was forced to call in a pro repairman. Will cost me at least $150 for part and repairman. I could have done job if instructions on how to rewire had been included.

I watched the video of the repair. It was very easy; removed 2 screws; disconnected 2 push-on tabs; removed the element; and then reversed the operation. Be sure to turn off the circuit breaker that powers the oven before you start the repair. Turn it back on when finished and test the oven.

Shut off power - throw breaker. Oven access easier with door removed - requires removal of two Phillips head screws. Remove two screws holding element in place using 1/4" socket. removed screws,unplugged terminal leads,installed new one,back in business.

New ones fit perfectly. Take a minute to bend the frame straight. Then and I used oversize screws on the replacement parts as the drop had stripped out the screw holes of the frame.

Unscrewed screws in back of oven holding element. Slipped old element off of wire. No need to cut wires has the kind of ends (spade ends I think they are called) that just is pushed on to element. removed screws from back cover then pulled elect. plug apart. removed screw pulled out probe installed new probe put cover back on very easy only problem was that it said that 88% of time would fix the problem. will this time it didn't work oven still over heating.

took out the old one, screwed in the new one. very easy.
