9/16s inch socket, something to prop up one side of the mower (I used a plastic plant pot), and about 5 minutes was all that was needed. Undo the nut on the wheel, remove, replace it with the new one (can't mess it up - just goes on one way which is extremely obvious), replace and tighten the nut -- done. Just that simple. Can't believe you all had replacement wheels for this dinosaur. They have drive gears attached to wheel. Very simple to fix but broke old exhaust chute on mower when I leaned it on its side. Now I have to find a replacement for it! Geeesh!!!

Removed wheel by pressing off the plastic hub cap exposing the nut holding the wheel. I removed the nut, then pulled the wheel straight off the axel shaft. This exposed the broken dust cover. I they wiggled the dust cover off, cleaned the dirt from inside the wheel, placed the new dust cover, replaced the wheel, nut and hub cap.
