Upper rack kept dropping from the wheels when we pulled it out
4 of 4 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Joel from Cypress, TX
  • Easy
  • Less than 15 mins
We knew roughly how we needed to put the cap on the rail, but our technique of simply forcing it in the end of the rail wasn't working. The trick is to bend the moveable part of the plastic cap inward while you're sliding it in, and it clicks right into place.

The location of the cap we were replacing was the upper back left, w hich made it a little tricky to reach back there and insert it, especially for a bigger guy like myself. We took the bottom rack out and my smaller wife was more easily able to lean in the dishwasher and reach back there to insert it.

spray arm falls off
5 of 7 people found this instruction helpful.
  • JAMES from AUBURN, WA
  • Really Easy
  • Less than 15 mins

Turn off power at breaker box.
Remove lower covers and 2 screws into counter top.
Verify sufficient length on water and electrical connection to allow sliding dishwasher out approx. 2/3. I disconnected the electrical at the j box on the dishwasher. If you must disconnect the water line, shut off supply, usually located under nea rby sink, and provide a rag or sponge for small amounts of water left in supply line.
Carefully pull back the insulation to expose two screws on top where water line runs into the center.
Pull the top tray part way out and reach in to hold the spray arm while removing the screws. The spray arm will easily drop out.
Hold the new spray arm in place making sure the raised screw posts push into the holes, then reinstall the two screws. Done. Pull insulation back into place, retape if necessary. Reconnect electrical and water if necessary.
Slide unit back in, checking alinement. Rescrew to counter top and reinstall lower covers. Task complete. 15 mins if prepared. 30 mins if both elect. & water are disconnected and you are somewhat hesitant.

poor dish washing
4 of 5 people found this instruction helpful.
  • THOMAS from LACONIA, NH
  • A Bit Difficult
  • More than 2 hours
  • Nutdriver, Pliers, Screw drivers, Socket set, Wrench (Adjustable), Wrench set
Read directions. They were poorly drawn. Set them aside. Opened up unit on December 26th. I made careful observation of the wiring, two hoses, one metal bracket, the hose two clamps, and then proceeded. Instructions said 1 to 2 hours, to complete. Ha Ha, perhaps if you've done it before. It was actually really closer to four hours. When done, it worked perfectly. The best part, my wife said: "This was the best Christmas present ever!" That made my day! Dishes are clean again, just like new! Thank you: www.PartsSelect.com.

First I removed the four screws holding on two metal panels to gain access to the springs. Then I unhooked the broken assembly from the springs. Then I hooked the new assembly to the hinge. Finally, I reconnected the assembly to the springs. (I didn't have to unhook the assembly from the hinge because it had already broken off.)
... Read more />This part must be one of those that commonly goes because I had replaced the other side about a year ago. The most difficult part a year ago was diagnosing the problem and figuring out how the pieces fit together. This now it was a quick repair because I knew exactly how to fix it. (And thanks to PartSelect for delivering the part in 48 hours even though I didn't pay for quick delivery.)

Rollers were missing from front of the rack
3 of 3 people found this instruction helpful.
  • John from Friendswood, TX
  • Really Easy

The new rollers snapped into place on the rack, by simply pushing them in. I was able to do it by hand, my wife could not do the same, so you might use some pliers.

Broken rack roller for upper tray
3 of 3 people found this instruction helpful.
  • Laurence from Clinton, MA
  • A Bit Difficult
  • Less than 15 mins
  • Screw drivers
My suggestion is to replace all four rollers at the same time since they are all the same age. Fortunately, four rollers come in each pack you order. You need to remove the end cap on borh metal rack rods which takes a little doing. You cannot just pull the caps off. You need to twist the end cap to free up the little catch at the rea r of the end cap. Once the end caps are off, just pull of the old rollers and install the new ones, replace the end caps and you're done.
