2 hose clamps and a hose, easy! This would be a very common cause of leaks in washers due to all the movement inside.

Door Lock Switch Replacement

The video from PartSelect showed removing the retaining ring from the rubber washer tub boot to then allow access the door lock located behind the boot for replacement. That ring can sometimes be a real pain to put back on. This can be avoided altogether!

It's much easier to access the door lock switch by removing the two re taining screws on the top cover of the washer found in the back of the machine. Remove the top cover and you can then reach down to remove the wiring connector, unscrew the two phillips screws on the front of the door latch and remove the door lock. Put the new switch on in reverse order; plug in the connector, replace all screws and the top cover, and you are done! This method took than 10 minutes from start to finish.

Please note that the washer should be unplugged from power while working on any electrical component.

Leak in top washer hose

Super straightforward to diagnose and repair.

There was puddle under the washer.

I removed the top (screws in rear, slide top toward rear slightly and lift) and followed the trail of water up to the top washer hose between the drum and detergent tray.

Two hose clamps to remove and replace, then replace the top and ready to go.

watched the video provided on site, very helpful for bellow replacement. there was no door hinge video. ordering parts for the bellow replacement, one clamp was on one page of the manual and the other clamp was on the other page, so look at the manuals provided so you can get the right part. the bellow i ordered was suppose to be for the model i have. the part ordered had a drain on the bottom, my bellow did not have a drain so i bought a brass plug, some RTV and a small clamp and fitted the RTV to the plug and installed and fitted the small clamp. All works fine. they do have a part number without the drain at the bottom and would be helpful if the user manual for the model had the exact replacement part number listed, I.E. if customer has a model number it is confirmed or not if that model number has a drain port. i was going to send 2 of the 4 extra clamps for hoses i ordered and clamp for the bellow that was wrong back for credit. i was told i could dispose of the items when i requested a shipping label and i was credited the amount + a $10 nuisance rebate. This Business IMO has exemplary customer service and with my experience i would recommend them

Noisy Bearings

In order to replace the bearings of a front loader LG Washer you will need to disassemble the entire unit. you should have excellent mechanical skills to tackle this project with necessary tools. Plan on replacing both bearings and rear seal, also plan on replacing the spider and drum seal. The Spider that supports the inner drum will be corroded due in part to seal failure. By the time you are hearing the bearing noise the damage to the spider will have taken place and need replacing. You can watch a few videos on youtube with similar appliances to give you an idea of the project at hand. Once disassembled cleaned and inspected the assembly goes real smooth. The washer now works as good as new and is ready for another 10+ years of service. Doing this project myself has saved me from buying a new one and that savings amounts to over $1000 bucks. LG washers are built to last and you will see that while working on it! Good Luck and do your homework!

The drain hose was leaking

First I had to elevate the washer on 3-5 gal. buckets in order to get underneath it and find the leak. Then I tried to repair the hose itself-which actually worked-but then the rest of the hose just started splitting everywhere I touched it. So I ordered the new part which took some careful comparing and examination online. But it was exa ctly the right part. You have to remove the top of the washer which is just 2 or 3 screws. Then taking the hose out was a little challenge-knowing I would have to put the new one back in carefully. Use Vaseline on rubber fitting at the end of the hose that connects to the washer. Need at least 2 people to raise the washer up in air to work on it.

Do not pay a service company to come to your house to make this fix!!! If you have common sense, simple tools, a phone camera and some mini zip ties you can do this!

After watching a couple YouTube videos on installing a new motor I had the confidence to start the job. My biggest worry was I'd forget where a screw/part went s o I took a lot of pictures as I disassembled. I also laid all the parts out on a table reflective of where they belonged on the machine. I learned washers aren't rocket science - YOU CAN DO THIS. The most difficult part of the fix was my washer was a different model so much of the caging was completely different than YouTube disassembly, but once I got into the machine it was fairly identical. Easily popped out the old, broken motor and inserted the new LG certified part. Reassembled in 1/2 the time of disassembly and my machine works like new:) Hoping to get another 10+ years out of this washer.

Thanks PartsSelect for the high quality certified LG part. Very nice quality and weight.

Used Youtube to look for a set of repair instructions. From start to end 35 min.

The difficult part was getting the door back on. Only 1 Youtube video I watched stated Do not remove the 2 center screws at the top. Wish I had seen that video first.

Overall very easy to do.
