40185059010 Kenmore Microwave - Instructions

I followed the instructions in the owners' manual on how to access the bulb. Installation was a breeze. I couldn't believe how fast I received the replacement bulb from PartSelect. I ordered it on line one afternoon and Fedex delivered it to my front door before 9:00 A.M. the next day. Awesome service.

Ordered (most difficult part of repair, because I wasn't sure the one I ordered would fit), opened box, removed padding, opened microwave oven door, lined up center indentations with center and my repair was complete. REPLACED DOOR SWITCH ASSEMLY

I unscrewed one screw and droped the glass light bulb cover, bent the light bulb up so it wouldn't break the glass again, removed the broken glass and installed new glass by bending the tabs over the glass to hold it in place and re-inserted the cover, then screwed the retaining screw back in. I ordered a replacement piece. Fits perfectly and rotates as it should. It arrived earlier than planned.

Use knife to peel back molding around latch openings. Pull down on plastic latch part, pull out bottom and tilt up to remove broken part from spring. Tilt top of new part inward and connect tab to spring. Push in bottom of latch and snap. Replace the molding by pushing all around the door frame.

After removing the door from the OTR microwave, we slid out the old latch, slid in the new, & reattached the spring. Replaced the door & DONE.

Used a putty knife to take off the edging inside the door to have access to the latch. Put the new part in and attached the spring. Replaced the edging and job was complete.

Got part from you in one day - great- watched utube video on removing molding and reinstalling. Video was longer than time to fix all need to do was remove molding and install the door latch - it is made of plastic with a hook on which to attach spring. Hook breaks and therefore door does not close

Ordered part and screwed in. Part could not be found in hardware store even though it was just a long set of screws. Agent quickly identified part with model number of microwave and it was at my home the next morning for installation. Great service!

To replace the light bulb was fast and easy. All I had to do was unscrew one screw and place the bulb in! Quick and easy, and simple!

My daughter was trying to run the microwave timer and ended up nuking the cooking tray, which shattered. First web place I found wanted 55$ for this tray and this site sold it for 19.99. It shipped super quickly. I am very pleased with this company!

Called Maytag regarding the latch. Was told I had to order an entire new door that would cost around $170 before shipping and handling. Went on partselect and foundt he part for $2.02. Big difference in price. Very easy to install. Hardest part was getting the spring back on. Would definitely recommend to friends.
