Washer-belleville
Part #3290-456
This Belleville washer, also known as a Belleville spring, is a type of cone/cup shaped washer, used in lawn and outdoor equipment. It is a thin, metal disc that tapers towards the center and functions like a spring when it is compressed. When a load is placed on the washer, the spring is engaged, and this allows it to absorb shocks and prevent loosening and leakages while the equipment is running. It is used in places that have heavy loads and require the maintenance of high tension, such as, under the head of a fastener or in between two equipment parts. Over time, the Belleville washer can crack or become deformed leading to a loss of tension, excessive vibration, instability, and falling parts. If you are positioning the washer under a fastener, first remove the fastener before removing the faulty washer, and if it is between two components, you may first need to disassemble the components. Each washer is sold separately.
