3639714 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

After looking at our broken bottom shelf in the fridge many times a day for over a year, I finally got around to doing something about it. So glad that I did! First of all, the part was shipped amazingly quickly. I had it within two days (at regular shipping). Secondly, it was a cinch to install. What a world of difference!
The only ... Read more caveat is that the new shelf fits quite snugly. If you don't give the refrigerator door an extra push to close it, the door does not seal. Just a new habit we have to get into.

I pulled off the old gasket and pressed in the new one. That's it!

Removed old gear and tapped the replacement on.

First the Kenmore refrigerator was listed as most parts as not available on the Sears web site.
The old gasket was split in several places and moisture and mildew was part of the clean up. Because of the cold weather at the time of shipment the note about using warm water to soften the gasket so it would be more pliable was extremely ... Read more helpful.
I was also reversing the door swing and found that it was not that hard , it took about 45 minutes and was done the 24ft frig is now working great

Removed the ice maker from the freezer. Removed the switch. Tested the switch with a multimeter. Ordered a new switch. Replaced it in the box. Installed the ice maker ( 3screws and electric cord plug. It works. Details available on the internet.

I removed the maker from the freezer, three phillps head screws, I pulled off the white plastic cover and found the top (small) gear had poped out, after carefull inspection, I notice two missing teeth. At this time of the year our beach fridge is always full of food and drinks. Every time we want something it meant leaving the door open for extended time whlie moving things left, right and center. first I ordered parts that didn't work. the return process was painless and I found the part I needed, which just popped right in!

I took out the vegetable bins and slid in the part. Replaced vegetable bins. Works perfect. I was told locally that GE doesn't make the part any more and that I wouldn't be able to find one. Ordered the icemaker replacement. unplugged the unit, followed the simple instructions and got it done in less than 30 minutes. It did take a LONG time to start making ice. But it's working now.

Was concerned that new icemaker was quite a bit different than the one we were replacing. Called GE to confirm it was correct.

Went ahead and installed the unit, using the supplied electric cable adapter.

A little difficult to deal with the extra cable, but everything worked OK and it's making ice normally.

even my three year old grandson could do this one! open the door slide the old tray all the way out and slide the new one in. wha-la! We have an older model refrigerator and thought it would be impossible to find a replacement ice bucket for the freezer. Not only did you have the exact part but it came unbelieveably fast. I would use your website again!

My repair was simple. Just put the shelf in the holes in the freezer. The AMAZING thing was how quickly I recieved the part after placing my order. I placed the order at about 3:30 pm on a friday checked the box for ground shipping and the part was at my door the next morning. I think that was a mistake, but I was impressed.
