36369 Refrigerator - Instructions

I took the advice off of your website about the only thing that will fix
the problem is change the run capacitor. I felt assured that I would
have a working refrigerator freezer after making this change. I was
pretty disheartened when it didn`t solve anything. I was not going to

The next day I found out how to test the old capacitor and it was still
good. I will just have to eat the $49. I did learn not to take advice from
a website even if it seems like a sure thing

disconnect the power to the unit. remove the retainer sctrews on the mounting bracket. remove fan motor from unit. using the rerquired tools remove the fan from the old motor and install on the new one. torque the nut until all slack is out then 1/4 turn. reinstall motor assy. and reconnect power. test the system .

Remove the fridge door and put it on the floor. Being able to apply lots of pressure helped get it into the tight groove. The corners were the hardest part. This requires strong "man" hands!

First I turned off the water supply. Then I removed the ice bin and the ice maker by removing 4 screws and 3 electrical connections. This allowed access to the evaporator fan which was not moving. There are 3 electrical connections that have to be disconnected from the fan, one ground wire that also is connected to the fan bracket and 2 power connections. Installing the new fan was the reverse of the above except the power connections were in a different location and i had to use the extension wires provided with the new fan to have the length needed to make the connection.

Just removed the old gasket at one corner with screwdriver and pulled the rest off. Matched the gasket with the strip on the frig. and pushed it in all around. Works good.

Removed plastic covers and used a nut driver to remove the two screws that held the heater assembly to the freezer coils, disconnected wires from old assembly, connected wires to new assembly, replaced mounting screws and replaced plastic covers and secured them with the original screws. All in all, a fairly easy operation.

Unplugged frige, removed top shelf, pulled broken fan blade off. Replaced with fan blade just purchased from PartSelect. Very simple repair. Orderd and recieved the right part.

Very easy. Removed all the parts from the fridge. Removed the glass. Unscrewed the two screws holding the rails to the front and rear support. Vacuumed the area around the compressor, removed the PTC relay switch cover, pried the broken relay switch off the unit with a screw driver and replaced with the new relay switch. Replaced the backing of the refrigerator and tested, within minutes the work was confirmed.

I placed the new part on the end of the freezer door guard and firmly pushed it in until it 'clicked'. Easy as pie! The more difficult part was to remove the broken off part inside the opening of the freezer door hwere the new bar end was to be inserted. I finally used thin nose pliers to reach in and grab the broken off part.

I had to figure out how to remove the old gasket and install the new one on my own since there were NO INSTRUCTIONS. The old gasket had to be cut off; the new one had to be warmed in hot water to make it flexible enough to flatten out. the new gasket did not appear to exactly match the old one but it did seem like to correct size, and that it should work. I removed the old and worked the new one into the receiver bar with some good old thumb pressure. the door does not 'suck' closed but it seems to be forming around the frame and I do not feel any loss of cold air. Instructions say run capacitor is by motor, but on this frige its in the refrigerator compartment. The capacitors looks different, one square and the other long

I used pliers to pull lightly on the head of the switch, while I inserted a small flat head screw driver into the base of switch and gently worked around the edges to free it from the panel.

I took out the vegetable bins and slid in the part. Replaced vegetable bins. Works perfect. I was told locally that GE doesn't make the part any more and that I wouldn't be able to find one. First place I looked on the net was you and found it with no trouble at all. really thrilled to get it. Thanks
