My husband and I simply took the burner units out of the packing, took the old ones off, put the new ones in. The new units needed to be leveled, but the leveling nuts included fit perfectly, and the entire repair took less than 15 minutes.

Burners were burning the pans and flames coming out at all different angles of the burner

The toughest part of the repair was the preparation to remove the old burners. As a result of the burning there was a carbon residue on the burners, on the gas outlet feed to the burners. This took some scrubbing and removing the carbon residue. Bits had burned onto the outlet and had to be scrapped off. Once all cleaned, replacing th e burners was easy just had to place the balancing nuts in place and put on the burners. One problem arose the hood of the stove did not go back in place after replacing the burners so I then removed the balancing nuts put back on the burners stove top hood fit back in place and burners operated properly. This part of the repair took five minutes.

The technician came out & checked everything out, turned out it was not electrical, The technician went out to his truck got a light bulb from his truck, put it in & it worked. It cost me $121.00 for trip charge from GE appl iance for a light bulb that worked, your light bulbs were defective twice. Very disappointed with your products, cost me alot of money for a good light bulb thru GE appliance

Lifted the top and dropped in the new burners. Realized they always should have had the leveling washers provided so I took the burners off, dropped on the leveling washers and dropped the burners back on. This all took about 2 minutes. Really made the range top look a lot nicer.

Rusted & Dirty Burners

I moved to an apartment where the past tenants did not take care of the stove. I think this stove is 10+ years old and looks like it was never cleaned in all of its existance! I cleaned everything really well with oven cleaner and lots of scrubbing. The stove looked brand new except the burners! I couldn't take it anymore so I ordered n ew ones. The burners came in less time than stated. I opened the box, took the burners out, lifted the oven hood and just placed them right where the others were. There are no tools needed it pretty much just gets placed down in the appropriate spot and that's that! No directions or tools needed. My stove looks awesome now!! When you first use the burners, you will probably need to place a match or lighter by the burner to get the fire going. After that, it lights perfectly every time.

The oven would not light and the clock was out. The surface burners worked.

Replaced the stoves control board using the instructions provided on this site. I would just like to add that you should unplug the stove before beginning and also know how to turn off the gas should anything happen while pulling the stove away from t he wall to get to the rear to remove the control board.

It was an easy process which took about 30 minutes. A lot of that was cleaning behind the stove. The control board perfectly matched the one on my 1998 stove so I guess it is good for another 20 years.

I ordered the new control board and installed it, no problem there. I attached the control knob on the new panel and tested the control switch and it would not turn at all. I still have not powered the control panel up at this time. I immediately called back to explain my problem with Parts Select. The person on the phone said that Parts Select will get another panel out to me and give me credit on the defective panel. A few days later I received the control panel replacement and did not install it until I tested the switch. it, too, did not function at all. Both panels seemed to be locked up. I called GE repair center and I find out that this panel is defective straight from the manufacturer and that he has 9 in his truck that are new and they too do not work ! I reported this problem with Parts Select and have been credited on the second panel. I have called GE direct and ordered a new panel and requested that it be tested and approved before shipment. I am now awaiting on the new Panel from GE.
