362710 Kenmore Range - Instructions

Removed oven convection fan cover for more room to remove/replace lower oven bottom. Deflector is attached underneath oven bottom and you will need new self tapping sheet metal screws to replace old ones. The old double burners lifted off. Before the new burner could be set down into place, the area had to be completely cleaned using a flat blade screwdriver and damp rag. This allowed the new burners to seat properly in place. That is it.

1st lift out the heavy steel griddle.
2nd test pilotless igniter.
3rd check the primary flame.
4th locate part # on the safety valve assy.
I never heard of the brand "Five Star" and I couldn't find any documentation for it either. An internet search finally informed me it came from the Brown Stove Works in TN. I then ... Read more learned that some models were sold with GE badging (labeling) which me got to Part Select dot com's catalog where I found an image of the part I needed.
5th order the part
6th install the valve and reassemble the burner
7th test
8th put griddle back in place

Lift stove top, rest it on the pop out holders on stove.
Take old double burner out, Make sure gas port is not plugged.
Put new burner in its place. Make sure it is solid, if not use the washers sent with new burner. turn on gas to burner, to see if it works. Close stove top an wa la!

Removed the old oven bottom by removing two nuts. Be careful...don't drop the nuts! Removed the heat shield that was attached with four nuts to the old bottom and transferred it to the new oven bottom. Then placed the new bottom in the oven and secured it with the two original nuts. raised the range top so the supports locked in place. carefully lifted off the old burner assemblies. used a paper towel to remove any black soot from gas jets. opened the plastic package of the new burner assemblies, pulled out the new parts and carefully put them in place. turned on the flame to test... took less than 5 minutes to fix a ... Open the stove top pulled old burners out dropped new set in place. Theyclick right in NO TOOLS REQUIRED!!!!

Dryer would only heat up once or twice when first started. After reading other reports on parts select, deduced it was the coils not opening on gas valve. Read more t two screws from lower part of front panel. Picked bottom of panel up until lock springs released. Unhooked electrical connections. Removed two screws from bracket holding coils in gas valve. Put new coils in, linded up with bracket nipple hole. Then reversed steps. Working like a champ again. Watched instructional videos for some extra help. Thanks part select.

ground off rear of knob 1/4" . Put on new knob and works fine. No longer have detents but can still read knob.

Husband actually did the repair, It went really well except he forgot to remove the heat shield from the old part to attach to the new bottom. (His mistake!)

Just opened the box, removed the 2 old burners and replaced with the 2 shiny new ones. Yeah success! I placed my order for this product and before I knew it, it was at my front door. Thank you!
