36130 General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

Freezer worked great but no cooling to refrigerator section. Replaced with part ordered. Phillips head screw driver is all that is needed. Very easy to replace, it's plug and play. New part powered up neither the freezer nor the refrigerator. Went back to old part and atleast freezer still works. New part was no good from factory. The re ... Read more placement part# matched the original. I attempted to contact PartsSelect but there was no response back.

first i removed all the screws inside the freezer compartment took out theback and bottom to get to the evap motor,unpluged the wires and removed the evap motor ,removed the fan from old unit and put it on the new unit them mounted it to the back wall of the fridge,,, and put back top and bottom

Cleaned oh t freezer removed floor. Removed back inside wall removed and replaced fan and put back removed parts

I removed the condenser cover removed old fan blade defrosted the condenser section installed new blade and reassembled

It just unpluged and the new one plugged in. Simple. The part was reasonable and arrived very quickly. It sure is nice to have a light in the frig again.

Installing the part repaired the fridge and freezer immediately.

got on part select web site and found other customers that had same problem and on their site they had comments from them to fix problem. I then took off back panel on frig where compressor is by removing 6 screws and found the relay attached to the compressor then pressing down on holding spring removed 2 wire alligator clips and it was ... 1- youtubed the potential diagnoses, 2- resourced and ordered parts, 3- removed old socket, installed new one :-)... My fridge is an older fridge and could've used a screwdriver for eyeglasses. Plug and play easy... YAY!

I slipped the coupling over the bar and then into a door slot. It was very easy.

I ordered the part, within two days we had received it. My husband put the part in and I really don't know what he used doing so. All I know is that the light works now and we don't have to use the flashlight. Thanks a lot.

I unplugged the refrigerator. Pressed the tab near the light bulb. Unplugged the socket and reconnected it.

Un Plugged the frig. Unlocked the socket by pressing down on the latch. Pulled the socket out ensuring I had enough slack. Unplugged the old socket installed the new. Plugged the frig back in. Tested the switch . Very easy-to-use.

On the internet forum I read that if the control board needs to be changed , do the same for the Run Capacitor/relay.
The Ge profile refrigerator was 15 years old. First I disconnect the power cord,
I removed the control board at the back of the fridge, replaced it with a new one and did the same for the run capacitor.
P ... Read more lugged the power cord back and it works fine. GE repair service did not want to come to do it. DIY is fine.

pluged the wire harness into the new socket from the back and snaped the socket in place.
