31AH55Q5766 (2012) Troy-Bilt Snow Blower - Instructions

I ordered a replacement chute rotation gearbox. The small metal ball on the end of the cable (on the replacement part) was attached about 1/8" too long and made it so that there was too much play in the trigger that operates it. I'm still waiting for instructions about returning it for a refund. The whole thing was a bust. I ended up disassembling the old gearbox and fixing it, instead of replacing it (which would have been my preference). The replacement part did not work at all!

Only part of repair that took a few seconds was making sure the blower chute moved fully to the right and left. Lucky, the fix is remove cotter pin on the hex shaft, move handle and chute fully to the right or left reinstall hex, check for full swing, replace cotter pin. The cable end is barbed, but can be removed with a twisting pull.

If the trigger is broken on the left side, it is really easy to replace, if broken on the right side like mine the snow chute joystick control is in the way.
