30-82 Tappan Range - Instructions

The repair was simple - I first needed to test the original igniter with a circuit tester. Once I determined that the part was bad, I simply removed it and replaced it with a new one from Partselect. It was a matter of simply unplugging a few wires and splicing the new igniter in with wirenuts. Fairly simple.

Read more wire nuts and pulled old wires off and removed old ignighter. i pulled off the insulator covers from the old one and slid them on the wires of the new ignighter then i fished the wires back down and and attachted them with the wire nuts, then reasembled the rest of the oven. woks great!

Removed racks,oven bottom(2 screws) and heat deflecter. Slide heat sleeves 10 inches away from old igniter. Cut wires one inch longer than the length of the heat sleeves, from the old igniter. First i removed the broiler door and then I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and cut the two wires. I strip the ends ,connected the new unit with ceramic nuts that was provided an reconnected the unit. all was done in less than 30 min. EASY!!! plug the stove back in and ... CUT THE WIRES ON OLD IGNITER AND WIRE NUT THE WIRES OF THE NEW IGNITER TO WHERE I CUT THE OLD ONE OFF.

First I removed the two screws that held the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires nuts, (from last repair) installed new igniter. Not rocket science here.

Simple repair ,unplug unit,cut the 2 wires close to heating element,remove elements 2 screws w/1/4 inch nut driver. Cut and strip 2 wires back about 1/2 inch,be sure to cut wires close to element,wirenut both wires together. Reinstalled element,plug unit back in. Done . . . 12 Minutes,ready to bake a cake. .

remove screw, remove burner, install new burner and screw

took of bottom pan and pan above the gas flame off and the igniter off , cut the two wires. replaced the igniter hooked the wires togther, replaced both pans. turned the oven on and it lite

Removed broiler pan drawer,removed two screws on element unplugged wires,installed new one. ,Tried oven, works like it did when new. It couldn't have been easier,plus I saved a bunch of money thank you partselect mike m.

I received the order in today's mail. However, the knob does not fit the thermostat port. I was excited the the knob you sent me looks exactly like my knob, However, The knob you sent me has a 1 at the port site. The knob on my stove has a 2 - it has a larger port opening.

Can this be remedied at all? Do you have a similar ... Read more part with a 2 on the port hole?

No Problem, couldn't find them at any local repair facility so I looked on line and found them here, ordered 4 drip pans and the exact replacements came within a few days.
