followed the instructions that come with the part. very quick and easy.

Removed lower burner covers and fan cover to access igniter. Unscrewed igniter and pulled out as far as possible. Marked both wires and snipped them. I removed the oven bottom which was held by two large head long screws. I then removed the heat deflector using a small socket. The only difficult part was when I went to replace the igniter. If I had not had trouble removing the screws the repair probably would have taken 15 min.

I replaced both gas valve and igniter. I removed oven door and bottom of oven for easy access to both. The door slid off easy and the bottom was held by two thumb screws. I simply searched YouTube for the problem I was having and foud it was probably caused by a bad part. I found the part online and ordered it. It was as simple as a few screws and a couple wire-nuts to install. My girlfrind was very happy to get the oven fixed !!!!

First I'll say the instructions and comments from this site were right on, making it easy. I slid the oven out and unplugged the electric. Opened the door, took out the racks, took out the two thumbscrews at the back bottom and lifted the bottom plate up and out, and lifted off the heat guard plate. I could then see and reach the ignite ... Read more r pretty easily (the flashlight helped). The igniter may have been replaced before because there were already wire nuts on the wires. I unscrewed the two screws using the nutdriver and noted which wire (top or bottom) went to which wire inside. Unscrewed the wire nuts and removed the old igniter. Used the old igniter to determine where to cut and strip the new igniter's wires. Connected the wires of the new igniter using the wire nuts and put the two mounting screws in. Then just put all the other stuff back in (heat guard, bottom plate/two thumbscrews, racks). Plugged it in and started the oven. Got a small amount of "crackly" noise initially (maybe because the igniter was new) but that went away and it's been working fine and quiet since. Very easy (well, perhaps other than being on your knees, leaned into the back of an oven for a couple minutes). Well worth the effort.

Unplug appliance. Remove the bottom of the oven (2 screws in back of oven bottom), remove burner cover (2 screws in front and nut in center holding burner). Remove two screws holding the old igniter. The two screws holding the igniter to the side of the burner were stripped and they took a little time to remove but I replaced them with two new screws I had in my misc. screw drawer and had no issue. Cut the top wire and splice it onto the top wire of the new igniter using the porcelain wire nuts provided. Do the same with the bottom wire. Re-assemble and plug back in. Everything worked perfectly.

First I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. A friend replaced the new ignitor with the old one...very simple job.

The oven igniter was working, the Sears repairman said by the phone the igniter was probley weak and not geting hot enough. Remove door ( 4 screws) Remove oven pan (4 Screws) remove burner sheld. remove lighter and cut wires. Install new. Remove storage drawer and splice new wires to the old at the back.

pulled stove out to unplug the electric cord. Took oven door off and removed the bottom panel (2 screws) and then removed the burner (2 screws). took off old igniter ( 2 nut screws). cut wires and stripped the coating to wire to new unit.
Attached new igniter to the burner, and put the burner back in place and replaced the screws ... Read more so unit was stable.
Turned oven on to make sure ingiter was going to light oven, when oven came on, turned oven off and replaced the cover to the burner and the bottom panel in the oven,. Put the oven door back on........
Probably took 45 minutes.
I ordered the part late Friday afternoon, around 3, and the part was here Saturday Afternoon. I was impressed.

The whole job took me an hour. I would have done it sooner but I didnt a square head driver bit to remove the igniter from the burner assembly. I removed the whole assembly and with a pliers slowly unscrewed the mounting screws. Af ... Read more ter that I disconnected the igniter per your instructions,spliced the remaining wires reconnected the gas and electric and I was good to go.

My husband was able to easily remove the old part, and replace with the new ignitor. The wires were long, so he took the extra precaution of tying them away from the flame. It took longer to take everything out and put it back together than the actual repair..

Followed service sheet. Measured 2.6 amps draw at igniter wire which should have been 3.2 amps. Replaced igniter and problem resolved.
