22309 (1988) Kenmore Range - Instructions

1. Remove the exhaust vent cover, located in the center of the top of the range. It just lifts off.
2. Swivel the clamp 90 degrees to release the filter.
3. Remove the filter and throw it away
4. Place new filter in place and lock in place by rotating the swivel clamp back 90 degress.
5. Replace the exhaust vent cover

Easily removed the old knobs and applied the new ones.

I ordered the kit that contained all 4 wires and contacts. The replacement was fairly easy. The only drawback was the tight quarters in running the wires. The job was quick and a success. Now I can use my right side of my stovetop again!

removed the wooden cutter block rt side top and the air exst.vent guard lf side then with a phileps driver 2 screws holding the control knob assm.in. both control knob assm.rt&lf come off the same way. just scraped out what that was left of the old lens stuck in new one and reatached light bulb holder. this bulb holder presses on and slid ... Read more es side ways to lock in place. then snaped control knob assm. back in and tighten the 2 screws. replaced vent guard & wooden cutter block. all was done.

Remove and replace grease filter.

removed cover, pulled out old switch, moved each wire from old to new switch, mounted switch, replaced cover.

I just lifted out old filter, and put in new one.

old filter fell into from removing and cleaning,
removed cover pulled out filter ,replaced it with new one.

Pulled the old one out & inserted the new one. Less than five minutes.

We replaced the burner grates, knobs, air filter and burner pan. Looks as good as new!

replaced old worn silver and white control knobs with new black ones.

Removed old filter, dropped in the new one.
(This really was not a "repair")

It was very simple. detached front switch panel by removing 4 screws inside top of oven door. Removed knob from old switch and removed nut holding switch to panel. Rotated switch panel to expose guts. replaced wires from old switch to new switch, screwed new switch to panel, replaced old knob. idea came from previous story at this website ... Read more . This was a no-brainer: old filter out, new filter in. In addition to replacing an old, greasy filter, I found that the exhaust fan now draws cooking fumes much more efficiently. So why did I wait the 6 years since we moved into this house to do this???
