Installation was straight forward as the new vent cap was sized correctly for exhaust pipe (5 inch). Placed the mounting plate into the exhaust pipe and used 4 SS screws to anchor to house sheathing. The vent flapper was not flat, requiring that I carefully stress relieve it at 250 degrees and hold it flat while cooling to take warp out

Went to U-Tube and watched video. New switch has different wire connection pattern from old and requires some scrutiny as to where the connections are on the new sw.

I first thought it was the switch. I ordered one and the wrong one was shipped to me FROM ANOTHER COMPANY. After more trouble shooting I discovered it was the cartridge that needed to be replaces. I ordered one and again, the wrong one was shipped to me. They told me I could not get the right part because they were not made anymore.

So, I shipped it back and got in touch with Part Select. They found the right part and shipped it to me in 2 days. Problem fixed with the EXACT right part. I ordered the first part more than two months prior to receiving the correct part from PartSelect. All I had to do was plug it in to the recepticle in the stove. No tools required.

Followed other's instructions from the web site: First - turned off the power at circuit breaker; removed two screws from downdraft vent area; pushed the switch housing back towards vent and lifted; held replacement switch next to defective switch and removed and replaced one wire at a time; loosed switch collar-nut and swapped defective

I feel that the design of the indicator light, with the base attached to the bottom of the lens, is ingenious in that it eliminates the need for fasteners in that confined space, However, the plastic used for the base needs to be more flexible. Repair was very easy for anyone to do,Just lift the old element cartridge up and pull out,And insert new the one! Very simple it took less than two minutes.The New element cartridge(stainless steel) Fits perfectly and functions perfectly.Ordered parts on a Saturday and they arrived Monday! impressive!!

Searched on the Web for the prt number printed on the cartridge itself. Found Partselect, and liked availability, price and delivery.
Replacement was literally a 30-sec task, without tools.
