Handle Lock Washer
Part #RD1008
This authentic manufacturer-supplied washer is specially made for use with Shimano fishing reels. It is a special hardware that helps to provide a tight seal between connected components. This is an identical replacement for a missing or a worn washer that was installed on a new unit. One durable metal part is included. Refer to the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the proper repair procedure. A screwdriver might be needed to replace this hardware.

Washer
Part #RD1524
This authentic OEM washer in your spinning reel is positioned next to the drive gear, which is responsible for turning the spool and controlling the line retrieval. It can be found within the body and side cover of the reel. The washer acts as a cushion, reducing friction and ensuring smooth operation of the reel. Over time, the washer can become worn, damaged, or corroded. Signs that it needs to be replaced include increased noise, decreased smoothness in reel operation, or if the drive gear shows excessive wobbling or play. To remove the existing washer, you need pliers and a screwdriver. Follow the steps in your user manual to remove the spool, rotor, anti-reverse assembly, pinion bearing, and drive gear. Once removed, replace the drive gear and bearing with the new washer, then reassemble the reel in the reverse order.
